~This particular story takes place right after the Battle of Manhattan, specifically, right after Percy and Annabeth share some birthday cake, kiss, and get dumped in the lake. Oh, another important thing: Rick Riordan owns these characters, I do not, blah blah blah, give credit where credit is due, blah blah blah. Enjoy!~
Percy's POV
After we broke from the kiss, I didn't will Annabeth and I back up to the surface. We didn't have to hurry, so I figured we shouldn't. Besides, I wanted the crowd to disperse before we surfaced. They wouldn't wait around too long.
Annabeth grabbed my hands, grinning from ear to ear. She had a plan, and from that goofy grin (that was mine now!) I knew it would be a good one.
"You know," she started, tightening her grip on my hands, "we could wait for the crowd to disperse before coming up..." she let go of my hands and ran her hands up my arms until they were clasped around my neck. Her face was close enough that I could lean forward again and we could get lost in another kiss. I leaned in, but she kept talking. "OR!" she shouted. I jerked back. "you could use your powers to propel us on a jet of water and get them all soaked!!!"
Gods, I loved her, but she had been spending much too much time with the Stoll brothers. Their prankster was rubbing off on her. Even with the extra prank in my Annabeth (did you hear that!? MY Annabeth!) I smiled sweetly.
"Well?" Annabeth asked, unsure of what I would do next. I leaned in and wrapped my hands around her neck.
She leaned in to meet me in a kiss, and as our lips locked, I willed the lake to explode. In a second, we had been ejected and were laying on top of a canoe. Everyone, who had been still waiting (they really needed some interesting stuff to happen, huh? Wait, what am I saying? We all just fought a war! They just needed something good), was soaked from head to toe, just as I intended.
We had landed so I was on top of Annabeth, who hadn't bothered to try and get out from under me. I slowly stood up, and as Annabeth followed suit, I wrapped my arms around her waist and hoisted her into the air. It was cute for a minute, us smiling at each other as I managed to hold her aloft. Then I dumped her over my shoulder like a sack of potatoes, and ran to my cabin.
I didn't care if it was breaking the rules. I had just defeated Kronos, turned 16, and kissed Annabeth (again). Chiron could give me a break. I didn't even care that everyone saw us. I know what they were all thinking. (A/N: you too readers. I know you think they're gonna fuck) Or, then again, maybe they weren't. After all, we were only 16, way too young for that. Heck, we had only just gotten together. It wasn't mine or Annabeth's style.
I dumped her unceremoniously on my bed and she giggled. Gods, I could listen to that sound forever. I could stay in this moment forever. Everything was perfect, Annabeth and I were together, we were happy, and we had just won a war.
As I sat down next to her, she grabbed my hips and pulled me on top of her. I took that as an invitation, so I leaned in for another kiss, wrapping my hands in her tangled blonde hair as her hands wandered under the hem of my shirt. They traced lightly up my sides, and it took all my willpower not to convulse with giggles. The kissing helped, too.
For the rest of the night, we kissed on and off until Annabeth fell asleep. I watched her small frame rise and fall gently with her breathing, and a little strand of hair flutter up with every exhale. I fell asleep to the sound of the ocean and her breathing. I was happy.
Huh, I think that turned out pretty well! Pretty well for my first one-shot, at least. And my first one-shot, finished at 11 PM on a random Wednesday. Enjoy! More to come (and soon, hopefully)
