Gladion x Moon Oneshot

The little boy with blonde hair and green eyes watched as his mother slowly drove herself insane. His mother never spent time with her kids, unless she was angry. She paced back and forth frantically as she whispered something under her breath. Moments earlier, his mother yelled at his younger sister because she was not beautiful enough for her. He watched helplessly as his sister ran off clutching her favorite doll.

His father disappeared finding these things called Ultra Beasts not to long ago, this made his happy family break into a million pieces. Now, his usual happy, loving mother, turned into this obsessive maniac. The little boy only knew they had a Pokemon to beat the Beasts, it was called Type:Null. He didn't know much about it, or where it came from. He only knew that they had a close friendship after visiting it in its cage when his mother was busy. The blonde-haired boy wanted desperately to break out of this place and go with Type:Null to be free from his mother. So, he did just that.

After his mother slammed his door shut, he waited a few minutes. He already thought of a plan, he would go to the secret lab, and when the guard wasn't looking, he would grab Type:Null and run. Unfortunately he ran into an obstacle, Wicke. She was a researcher for the Aether Foundation, where his mother, or Lusamine, works. The boy thinks of Wicke as a mother.

"Gladion? What are you doing up this late, and why are you down here?" She asked sweetly.

"I-I, uh, just wanted to take a little walk." He said.

"Alright, just don't get caught by your mother." She warned and walked off.

He mentally high-fived himself as he ran passed the sleeping guard and to the Pokemon's cage. "Let's break out of here. Then we'll get Lillie." He said as he typed in a password on the computer. After a few tries he got it, and thought about why he didn't try this before. The cage opened and an alarm went off. The Pokémon seemed to know what was going on and signaled Gladion to get on its back. He didn't hesitate to do so, and they rode out of the lab.

"Get that kid!" Two employees started chasing them from down the hall.

"Faster!" The boy shouted. Somehow they made it to the Dock Area, and he got off the Pokemon. It walked onto the boat, and the boy followed behind. He ran up to the wheel and started the ship. Luckily, that was the only ship in the area and no one had a chance to catch them now.

Gladion steered the ship as memories surged through his mind. His father used to take him on adventures before his Ultra Beast obsession. He remembered when his father taught him to steer a boat, he was so happy that day. The boy could perfectly picture his mother and sister waiting on the shore for them.

A single tear fell from his eyes when he looked back to the Aether Paradise. "I'm sorry I couldn't save you Lillie..." He broke down sobbing as Type:Null nudged his leg. This was the start of his own adventure...

Many Years Later...

The once proper and well dressed boy was gone, he changed completely. His hair was no longer tied back, he wore no more fancy clothes, and he even pierced his ear. Gladion was grown up, and him and Type:Null were getting stronger and stronger. He was now getting money by being an enforcer for Team Skull.

The first time he met her was when lost in a battle against her. Gladion was infuriated that he lost to a new trainer. Her name was Moon, and she recently moved to Alola. She and her Pokemon were amazing in battle, like they knew what the other was thinking. He knew she had potential to become an excellent trainer, and much more.
