Percy Jackson

“What do we do about the crystals?” Percy asked immediately upon exiting the store. He was still a little shaken after seeing the performance Harry had made back inside.

“We need to get to the demigods before they can use them,” Harry said. “These crystals are bad news.”

“So they can bind any god and wizard,” Percy recalled as they made their way down the street. “What does that mean for us?”

“It means we have to be careful,” Harry said vaguely. Percy wasn’t really listening so he just nodded. He was trying to find parchment.

"Found it!" Percy exclaimed.

"Found what?" Harry said, startled by Percy's sudden outburst.

“The parchment,” Percy said absentmindedly, unfolding the paper. The last time they had checked the paper it had lead them to the pawn shop, so Percy was hopeful it would be just as helpful this time.

"Good thinking," Harry said. Percy just rolled his eyes at him.

"There," Percy said, his finger pointing at the symbol (or whatever it is). He looked up at Harry who nodded. Harry's gaze flickered behind him and his eyes widened. Percy turned to see what he was staring at.

Kelli (as if he hadn’t seen enough of her) was towering over him, a beaming expression plastered on her face. She hadn't changed too much; she still had her African American complexion and her dark brown curls.

Percy lookd back at Harry who’s giving Percy a look meaning who is this?

"You know Kelli, this is getting old," Percy said smirking at her. "You're still stalking me even after I sent you to Tartarus?"

Kelli looked at him with a smirk on her face as well. "I'm not here for you Percy," she spat his name out like it was poison but gave him a sickly sweet smile. "I'm here for this.”  With that, she ripped the parchment out of his hands.

Kelli instantly sprinted in the opposite direction. Percy and Harry shared a look, kind of like, what? before sprinting after the empousai.

Percy uncapped Riptide and Harry took out his wand. Kelli looked back at them, well, more like glared. If looks could kill he and Harry would already be rotting corpses. "You don't give up do you?" she snarled at them.

"Nope!" Percy yelled, and in her distracted state Harry was able to slip in front of her. Stopping dead in her tracks, she was stuck between the two boys. Kelli snarled, and turned to Harry. With a bat of her eyelashes, Harry's eyes glazed over.

"Harry, sweetie, would you do me a favour?" she said in her high pitched girly voice while touching his arm a bit too much.

"Of course. Whatever you say." Percy's mouth was hanging open. He had forgotten that Harry had never had an encounter with an empousai before and had no idea that they could charmspeak.

Kelli looked back at Percy a little, a smug look on her face, before she turned back to Harry.

Percy watches as Kelli leans forward and whispers something in to Harry's ear. All he can do is stare at them and stand in shock. He knew he should probably stab Kelli or something, but Percy wasn't completely immune to charmspeak. He felt too heavy to move.

He was suddenly ripped out of his trance when he saw Harry rip the map out of Kelli's hands. Percy grinned as Harry tossed the paper back, Percy catching it swiftly in his hand. Kelli looked flabbergasted, and almost didn’t even register it when Harry kicked her in the chest, sending her plummeting to the ground.

Harry placed a foot on Kelli's stomach. Suddenly, right under Harry's foot, she began to change. Her cheerleader body transformed into a women with flaming hair, white skin, red eyes, fans, one prosthetic bronze legs and one donkey leg.

"Oh my God," was all Harry could mutter.

“Yeah,” Percy said. “That’s her true form. Emposai use this form to drink the blood of the men they enchant.”

"Percy," Kelli groaned, "When did you get this smart? I thought that was your stuck up girlfriend’s job."

Harry and Percy both shot death glares at Kelli. "Who sent you to get the parchment?" Percy asked, continuing to glare down at Kelli.

"No one." Kelli glared back up at him. "I work alone from now on, remember?"

“Like we’re supposed to believe that,” Harry spat out.

Suddenly a thought occurred to Percy. “You’re in your true form. Shouldn’t we be dead?”

“Don’t give her ideas man!” Harry told him.

Kelli smiled evilly. “Who said I wanted you dead?”

“Are we supposed to be alive, then?” Percy asked. “Does someone want us for something?”

"That's cute." Kelli laughed horribly. Harry flinched at the sound. "You think I'd tell you."

Harry fingered with his wand, pushing his foot down harder. "Yeah, kind of."

Kelli smirked. With less than a fibre of her energy, she knocked Harry over, and disappeared from the scene.

Harry pushed himself off the ground. "I don't like that girl," he grumbled, dusting himself off. "Where do you think she went?"

"Not sure," Percy admitted. "But she's obviously not a problem; she couldn't care less about our deaths. That's new."

"At least we got the parchment back," Harry said, reminding him of how Harry was able to withstand Kelli's charmspeak.

"Right," Percy said. "Speaking of which, how did you do that?"

"I don't know, I just knew," Harry said. "She was trying to hard."

Percy laughed. "That's a way of putting it. Anyway," he said, looking at the parchment. "It said the next place they went was to a hotel. It’s like, thirty minutes from here.”

Harry took the paper. "Brilliant. Let's just hope we get there before they leave.
