The Incident

*Lucy's POV*

'How were we on that island for seven years... I don't understand, when we combined our power to protect us from Acnilogia, I felt something strange come over me. And whatever it is it's growing...' I thought to myself feeling my heart pump.

"HEY LUCE WHATCHA DOIN!?" Natsu yells coming in through my window.

I jumped in fear,"THERE'S A DOOR YOU KNOW" I yell as I kick him into my wall. I wasn't expecting him to jump out of nowhere.

"Oww that hurt Lucy, you don't have to be so mean" Natsu said rubbing his arm as he sat on the ground.

"Aye" happy said flying in.

"Shut it cat!" I say folding my arms. I wasn't in the mood for these two at the moment.

"anyway, I'll be at the guild, c ya later Luce" Natsu said seeming to have recovered then jumped out the window, happy following him.

"Will they ever use the door?" I question sighing.

A shot of pain went through my body as I collapsed to the floor. Gripping my head as I felt my heart pulse. I laid in the fetal position for a few moments until I stopped shivering.

"That's the third time this week..." I mumbled to myself squeezing my arms as I stayed on the ground. I felt a tear slip from my eye. 'And it's getting worse.'

My whole body ached as I struggled to stand up. I felt all my muscles twitch as I got to my bed. I sat down and sighed. 'I should talk to master Makarov about this, he'll know what to do... I hope...'

I got up and began making my way to the guild. My body has been aching since we got back from Tenrou, I'd learnt to put on a brave face so no one would worry. But now I was worried and Makarov was the only one who I thought could help.

"Hey blondie, watcha doin'" a gravelly voice called to me.

"Not now Gajeel. I need to see Master Makarov." I urged.

Gajeel grabbed my shoulder and made me look into his red eyes. "Somethins been off with you since we got back. Are you ok?"

His stare made me look down. He's the only one to have noticed. "Nothing's wrong..." I lied.

"Look me in the eyes and say that." He grumbled.

I gritted my teeth and looked up at him. "I'm fine..." I managed to mumble.

He gave me a glance before he let me go. I quickly scampered inside and up to Makarov's office door. I knocked thrice.

"Come in." A faint voice called.

I opened the door and walked in, making sure that the door was shut. I already felt tears building up.

"What's wrong child?" He asked.

A moment passed before I explained everything to him. The strange feelings I'd been having, the collapsing, the aching, and the building up of something inside me. He stared at me in thought.

"It seems that a curse has been placed on you. You'll have to go see Hex, a friend of mine, she's an expert in curses, she could find a way to remove it." He explained. "Unless..."

"Unless what?" I said wide eyed.

Makarov mumbled for a moment. "Unless it's not a curse. This is unlike any curse I've seen, but I don't know what else it could be. So go see Hex." He nodded.

I swallowed the lump in my throat. What if it isn't a curse? What does that mean for me? I shook off the feeling. I then looked at him dead in the eye.

"I want to leave Fairy Tail until I am better." I held out my hand with the sigil on it.

"Are you sure child?"

I nodded determinedly.

"Well the door is always open for you." He said removing my mark.

I thanked him and exited his office. I sighed before heading to the main doors. I wasn't going to say goodbye as I'd be back one day. As I got outside however, Gajeel was where I left him. He looked me up and down then stopped at my hand.

"Why'd you leave Fairy Tail?" He asked grabbing my hand, inspecting it.

"None of your business." I snatched my hand back.

"Tell me." He commanded.

"Why should I." I felt my blood being to boil. "Just let me go..." I mumbled trying to calm down.

"Not until I get a reason!" He grabbed my shoulder as I turned away.

I felt a power swell up and pulse out of me. "NO!" I yelled almost in a roar, glaring at Gajeel.

His eyes went wide as he flew back. I feel to my knees in pain and I clenched my fists. My whole body shook.

"Lucy..." Gajeel spoke quietly.

"Don't come near me!" I yelled stumbling my way onto my feet, the  running towards the forest.

Tears flowed from my eyes. Whatever that was, it wasn't me. I ran as fast as my feet could carry me. Hoping no one followed...
