The sun kissed the wet dew giving a glistening reflection of itself. It expelled a meadow of a thousand suns. Through the grass, a lone oak tree.  Adara grabbed my shoulder.

¨Ain't she a beauty?¨ she grinned, her eyes still red from crying. We approached the tree. The willow stood on the side of a small stream, hidden by the thick woods. Roots weaved in and out of the ground, almost making a staircase. We paced up the steps into the mild brown center. The tree was hollowed in the middle , with a small door way facing the stream. The sun shined trough the thick leaves giving the ground polka dots.

¨Welcome to my panic tree. I come here to get away from that circus.¨

I walked inside. For two sixteen year olds  a tree house seemed childish. but a safe haven is a safe haven. And a crappy life defended all that much more. I hopped on a small bench like structureand she sat next to me. She leaned her head on my shoulder.

"You have a good taste in music." she chuckled.

" I'm into lax music. Stuff with soul." I replied.

I know what shes been through. She knows that I'm not a comedic douche bag. The fact is, the last few days have been a trip. My mom, buys an apartment, starts dating a felon, lets me sit at home on my lazy butt-

Until I saw her.

She was beautiful. She had made an effort to talk to Mr Cheech and Chong with headphones. Girls like her don't talk to guys like me. She knew I was a friend to her. But she was more than a friend to me. She didnt judge me by my words or my lack of muscles. She just liked me. I wanted to sit there forever with her.

Her soft snore broke the silence. She had a long day. I leaned back to lay down and she collapsed on top of me. I wrapped her arms around her gently. Her snoring stopped. Her eyes opened and she looked at me. She crawled up into my arms and smiled. We both fell asleep. I loved this. I didn't know that I loved her.
