Will things be fixed in time? Or will our leading lady end up broken hearted?
Story:
“Hey, hurry up dweeb!” said my cocky bestfriend. We’re currently biking to school as fast as we can, since it’s running late.
“WOAH!! MIND TO HELP ME ZACHARY NOAH BROWN?!” I yelled as I help myself since my bike’s wheel got broken.
“Geez Victoria!! We’ll be late! Come on, ride with me on my bike!” Noah annoyingly replied to me.
Just like what he told me, I rode with him on his bike. He told me to hold on to him, but I stubbornly refused. So I ended up hugging him, which made me felt butterflies in my stomach. As we arrived at school, people started staring daggers at me. I’m actually used to it, so I always ignore it. This is a daily routine when there are classes. Why wouldn’t they stare at me like that? I’m Juliette Victoria Black, just some nobody in this school, just a normal and some ordinary junior. Well, most see me as a geek. While my bestfriend, Noah, is the President of the School Student Council. A senior and a varsity player of basketball and swimming division. One of the popular, handsome, tall hunk guys of the school. His reputation is too high compare to mines. People think he is very smart and I’m too dumb to be friends with him, though my name is under his on the Dean’s list.
“Hello Zac!” a group of girls greeted him in unison.
Yup, people call him Zac. I’m the only one who calls him Noah. We call each other by our second names. Just like what you think, many girls fall for him. And I’M ONE OF THOSE MANY GIRLS. Yes, I am in love with my bestfriend for almost two years. And I’m guessing that until now he doesn’t know about it. How could he? He’s kind of numb or not aware how people around him feel.
“I’ll see you at dismissal, Victoria!” Noah said while getting his books in his locker.
“Oww, you are not going to eat with me at lunch huh?” I said keeping my voice from sadness.
“Nope. I’m going to have a date with Yvonne today. Tell me Victoria, do I look good already? You know I always have to look good in front of Yvonne.” He said with a wink and his killer smile on, which made my heart accelerate.
“Tss. You look horrible, dude.” I replied with a bored and sarcastic voice.
If only he know how wonderful and how perfect he is for me. I want to tell him how I don’t want him to change anything about him. But of course, I can’t just go and tell him that. He might think different about it. I’m a bit of contented about us being bestfriends only. But God knows how I also wished for us to be more than that.
You must be wondering who Yvonne is. Yvonne Faith Dames is a mean, flirt and spoiled cheerleader. Noah has been courting her since they we’re still sophomores. And I’m wondering why she is not letting him be his girlfriend. I mean, is she that stupid?!
Sigh. I wonder when I will get tired of loving that prideful Mr. President, who is my bestfriend. Thinking about these things made me spaced out for a while. But my close friends and dragged me to our first class.
“What the heck are you doing, girl?” Riabelle asked.
“Yeah. Wanna be late for Physics and be humiliated by Mr. Tucson?!” Acelynn agreed.
“Okay girls. Stop pressuring Juliette. It seems her boyfri—bestfriend turned her down again today.” Jillian answered for me.
Even though I’m just a nobody or some geek here, I’ve got some friends too. And you will be surprised when I get to tell you about these friends of mine. To count off first, let’s start with Riabelle Anderson. She’s one the cheerleaders. But thank God she isn’t like the others who are mean. Just like Yvonne for an example. Riabelle is a very outgoing and optimist person. Next is Acelynn Vladimir, an actress of the Theater Club. Her dad is a Russian, while her mom is an American. She always makes me feel happy at times when I feel down. Last is Jillian Porter, a model of the School’s magazine. Among the three of them, I like her best. She was always there when Noah is too busy to even think about me. She actually understands how I feel. Because she was Noah’s 5th ex-girlfriend.
