A/N Heyyy! So this is a new story (obviously) that I am making. I was working on another story that I really enjoyed (Hold me through the storm) but got kind of bored. So I decided to publish some of my other work! I know it's not much, but my other story has gotten 652 reads so far. I started over (So if you are reading that one please find the new one!) because there is some major editing I would like to do! Anyways, please let me know if you would like me to continue on with this story! I will try to update when possible but I am very, very, busy (; Here ya go!

Sara Piele. Just a normal girl. At least, that's what I thought about myself. I was just a normal 15 year old girl. Little did I know that there was a whole world resting on my shoulders. A whole world that was living right in front of my eyes, yet I was blind to it.

I had no way of knowing about the endangered race. the endangered race that looked just like me. Humans that could do more. Humans that could control the weather, fire, lights, shadows.

I shoved my notebooks into my backpack as the final bell rang. I pushed my way through the crowd of teenagers, all going their own way, no one paying attention to anyone else but their friends. As I reached my bus I grabbed the cool metal rail and climbed the steps, smiling at her bus driver. I slowly made my way down the aisle, dodging backpacks and side stepping to stay out of the path of stray papers. Finally, I found and empty seat and slipped into it, swinging my backpack onto my lap.

*40 minute time skip*

I stumbled out of the bus, doing my best not to trip. As I began my walk home, I heard the sound of the bus's engine and saw it roll away, disappearing down the street.

Suddenly a hand grasped my wrist, yanking me into the shrubbery.

"What the heck?!" I spit out a leaf I had basically inhaled, and turned angrily to the figure who had grabbed me.

     "Sorry."

"Sorry?! You just yanked me into the trees! I swallowed a freaking leaf! Wait... I should probably ask what you're doing in the first place..."

"See that van over there? Yeah? Well I need you to get inside. And let my drive away with you."

"You really think I'm going to allow that?"

"Well I was kind of hoping. I don't want to forcefully take you."

     "Then don't."

"You don't understand. You're in danger. I know it seems odd that I just want you to get in my van. Yep, I sound completely mental. But if you don't, then they will take you. They won't ask, and they won't be nice about it. They will grab you, they will toss you into the trunk with your hands cuffed behind your back, and they will torture you."

"And you know this how? Plus, who are they?"

"I'd rather not talk about exactly who they are. And for how I know, well it happened to me."

"Why us? Why do they want us?"

"Because of this." he grinned and lifted one hand slightly, curling his fingers. A small plant began to grow, tangling around his leg and wrapping its way around both of his arms. I did something completely cool like, well, ya know, backing up into a maple tree.

"What was that?! I can do that?"

"I don't know. maybe. You may be another element. probably, since you seem to be so powerful. You're a rarity, Sara. Now you need to come with me or you will most definitely regret it."

"Gods (PJO anyone? No? Ok then). So you're telling me that I have superpowers, evil people are after me, and you, who I don't even know the name of, need me to drive away with you ."

"Well... yes. That's exactly what i'm saying. Oh! And I'm Jace by the way. Now you know my name."

"I have a feeling I'm going to regret this."

Suddenly his eyes opened wide. "No time for that now! They're here!"

He grabbed my arm and began to run through the small patching woods. The ground cleared of roots, sticks, and rocks as we ran, making it much easier. This whole superpowers thing was pretty neat. I Mean, this dude has some awesome earth powers!

He occasionally would spin halfway around with his hand out, sending sticks and rocks flying back at our pursuers. This might have been a bad time, but I suddenly realized that I had left my backpack where he had grabbed me. My phone was in there.

"Come on Sara! That is NOT important right now!" I scolded myself.

Jace took long strides, making it quite hard for me to keep up with him. It's not that I'm not good at running, because I am. I think. I mean, I've done track for five years. That has to count for something, right? And I could usually keep up with this guy. His pace is something I could match and his strides aren't that long. But, you know... I was kind of running for my life right then. And I just learned that I have superpowers. So cut me some slack.

We reached the van and he hopped in, immediately wrestling with the key, trying to get it into the slot.

I slid into the passenger seat, slamming the door behind me and turning around to peer out the back window. I saw the three men emerging from the woods, coming straight for the van.

"Come on!" I yelled at Jace, "They're only a few feet away!"

Suddenly the engine roared and we lurched forward, skidding around the corner as I desperately tried to put my seat belt on.
