The only time I am allowed to move is when I hobble to the bathroom and back throughout the day. Even then, I have Jaden continuously staring at me like he's afraid I'm going to keel over and die.

He's just worried, I tell myself. Yeah, the bitter part of me speaks up, he's just worried that his biggest source of income's going to drop dead.

"Jesus, can y'all just chill the fuck out? Can I go yet?"

The nurse standing at the door fidgets, unsure how to answer. "The doctor said-"

"To hell with what the doctor said!" I cut her off, causing her to squirm in her place. She even looks like she's about to break down. "I'm leaving now!"

I grin, enjoying her uncomfortable state. Good, at least now I'm not the only one who's miserable here.

I slowly swing my body over the hospital bed and groan as I stretch my legs out.

"Do the paperwork Jaden. And book a hotel - five stars okay."

I get an eye roll in response but nonetheless, he leaves to carry out my instructions.

My muscles protest in agony as I get off the bed and make my way out the door.

The nurses throw glances of despair towards me but I don't let that stop me from leaving.

Not as fast as I would like, Jaden's finished with the important stuff (which seemed pretty useless to me), and we were speeding away from the hospital and towards our hotel.

I felt uncomfortable throughout the entire ride, a nagging feeling at the back of mind. What am I missing?

"Hey Jaden, what about that girl?"

"Which girl?"

I frown, I'm pretty sure I would've told him when I was admitted into the hospital. "Grace. The singer I told you I wanted to take on?"

"Oh, her." He lets out a nervous laugh, a hand going up to ruffle his hair. "About her...."
