Scripture: PSALMS 71
Memory Verse:
"But I will hope continually, and I will praise You yet more and more.
My mouth shall tell of Your righteousness and Your salvation all the day; for I do not know their limits.
I will go in the strength of the LORD God: I will make mention of Your righteousness, of Yours only." (Ps.71:14-16)
Let us allow our hearts to speak to God. Sing a new song to the Lord. Praise Him according to His excellent greatness (Ps.150:2). Always rejoice in Him, even in the darkest hour of our lives. Let us be inspired by David who, even in times of difficulty, continued on singing praises unto the Lord.. who trusted God with all of his heart.. even when he is old and his strength failed, he continued on trusting Him. For God is his strong refuge and He did not fail him.
"Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honor all the day (Ps.71:8)." Let us make praise and worship a lifestyle.. that in everything we do, we praise God!
May we not look on the problems/trials we're facing. Instead, let us focus unto Jesus who is the answer to everything. Let us not put the blame on the Lord when things did not turn out the way we wanted them to be. Our God would never ever want anything bad to happen to us. "Every good and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no shadow of turning (James 1:17)." Those bad things that happen to us are Satan's weapon to discourage us and stop us in praising our God. Instead of feeling so down and helpless, let us sing joyful praises unto the Lord and trust in His power. For our God is always there to help us.
DO WE REJOICE IN THE LORD AND PRAISE HIM THE WAY DAVID DOES? If not, we still have time to do that. Our God is a patient, forgiving, and loving God. HE is a God of second chances. ^_^
The Lord is our strong refuge.. (Ps.71:7).
"Also Your righteousness, O God, is very high, You who have done great things; O God, who is like You?
You, who have shown me great and severe troubles, shall revive me again, and bring me up again from the depths of the earth.
You shall increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side (Ps.71:19-21)."
Our God is mighty to save. He is always at hand and never fails to help us. ^_^ He's awesome, isn't He?
Application (personal): always look on the bright side of life. Much better, I'll look up to God always. I won't allow my problems to take my happiness from me. I won't let my worries eat me up. WHY WORRY WHEN I CAN PRAY? Through God's grace, I will always rejoice in the Lord no matter what the situation may be. I will never be the same again. I now have God living inside of me. If I change, everything changes. There are so much to be grateful about.
Let us not neglect even God's littlest blessings. Because of us being caught up in our problems, we forget to see on how much God is blessing us.. And that leads us in feeling so miserable and forgetting that we have a loving and faithful God.
My friend, no one is exempted in having problems. God do allow things to happen in order for us to trust Him even in bad times.. Why is it that when a little thing did not go in our favor, we easily forget that God is on our side?
TRUST GOD. HE IS FAITHFUL, even when we are unfaithful to Him. That's just the way He is. Let us worship Him for who He is!
Eternal praise and glory be to our God forever and ever! \(^_^)/
God has blessed us all! We just tend to ignore His blessings most of the times, because we always look on what's lacking in our lives.
The mere fact that you're reading this and is still breathing today is enough reason to thank God. ^_^
God bless your heart, my friend. May we all see His greatness and let Him take His rightful place in our lives.
HAPPY NEW YEAR! Let us greet 2014 with a grateful heart. ^_^
