The phone rang and rang, but I couldn't find it in me to give up.

My throat felt dry, but I continued to murmur different phrases into the phone after I let out a deep sigh.

"Please, pick up." I whispered into the phone that continued to ring, my finger tips danced along with top of the box. The tune was a sudden hit to the face. I wanted it to stop. I wanted to hear her voice.

My body ached and everything was fuzzy. I could hardly stand, all my weight as on the telephone box.

She'd still meet me at eleven. Wouldn't she?
She has too. She loves me.

I called again, carefully placing quarters into the slot with trembling hands.

I ignored the slowly drying blood on my knuckles.

I just needed to know she'd still come.

"Please don't let go." I cried out, as the line went out and my arm gave out, causing my duffel to fall onto the ground with a soft thud.
