A/N: I wrote this based on the night Rory and Logan spent together before he set off to London in Season 6 Episode 22. Feel all the feels and enjoy!

Season 6, Partings

It's hard to believe that in three short hours, I will be waking up and jet setting off to London for a job I don't want to do. A job I don't want to have following in the footsteps of Mitchum Huntzberger.
Mitchum seems perfect to the average journalistic eye- he's the epitome of class and sophistication with an empire of multiple newspapers. Except, my father is far from perfect. He's plastic, materialistic, rude, and the exact opposite of what I want to be. The thought of following in his footsteps sickens me.
I have to leave my girlfriend for this job. Leaving Rory is the thing about this I'm dreading the most. Not the work, not the meetings, but Rory. Being away from her for this long will be the hardest point in my life so far.
I peered down at Rory's head resting peacefully on my bare chest, my hands running through her hair ever so lightly. I haven't gotten a wink of sleep tonight in utter fear of leaving her. I kissed Rory's forehead lightly and felt her stir a little under my arms.
"Logan, is that you? Is it time?" Rory murmured, a little more alert with each syllable. "Shhh, go to sleep, Ace. We've got a couple hours left." I responded, pressing her head back on my chest.

She shifted her body so she was laying on her stomach, her curious blue eyes gazing up at me. She reached her arm up to touch my scruff, but I took her hand and kissed it which put a small smile on her face. I moved my hand onto her back and drew on it lightly, just the way she liked it. Her eyes fluttered to a close as she let the heavy weight of sleep rest upon her small body, her breathing evening out to a slow murmur. I closed my eyes and let out a sigh, still tracing her back to keep her relaxed.
This, right here, is exactly what I will miss.
"You're my everything, Ace." I whispered, kissing her forehead lightly as I let sleep overtake me.
