A ride in the desert

Chapter 1

It was a Saturday afternoon and Lacey was bored and had no idea what to do. She grabs her phone and checks her social media. Nothing new. She goes to her contacts and decides to call some friends to see if they want to go for a horseback ride. She first calls Stacie.
"Hello?"
"Hey Stacie are you busy?"
"No not really just super bored."
"Same goes for me. I was calling to see if you wanted to go riding?"
"Let me ask my mom...... She says it's fine."
"Great be here in ten minutes."
"Okie dokie. See you soon."
"Bye"

After Lacey contacted Stacie, she called four other friends. Alice, Kallie, Lilly, and Samantha.
They were saddled up and headed out.
"I forgot my phone!" Lacey said.
"Wanna head back?" asked Kallie.
"No. We should be fine." replied Lacey.
"Are you sure? No one else brought their phone." Allice later said.
"Yes I'm sure. I promise we'll be ok." Lacey replied with a nervous giggle.
"Okay then." said Allice.

They set off. It was 1:43 when they come across a different path.
"Hmm. Never seen this path before." Lacey said
"Wait....you know the difference between other paths? What the heck?? How?" Asked Samantha confused.
"I go out here almost every day Sam." Lacey replied.
"Fair enough. So we gonna explore this path?" Samantha asked.
"I don't know if we should. I don't know it very well." Lacey said.
"C'mon! It'll be fun!" Lilly said.
"Yeah!" agreed the others.
"Fine okay... Follow me... I guess?"
"Hey, you brought us out here of course we'll follow you." Alice said.
"Okay...." replied Lacey.
