The following morning, I was woken by a very cheery Mr Lupin informed me that today was the day. Today I was leaving for Hogwarts. Today, my life would change forever. But while sitting on the edge of my bed, I couldn't help but think everything was going too quickly. Only yesterday, I was still living in Lymington with my horrific aunt. Now, I was under the custody of my newly found godfather, Mr Lupin, I found out this I was a witch and came from a magical family and that he is a Werewolf. It was only yesterday that I found out who my parents were. How my father was in prison and how my mother was dead. It was hard to get my head around everything. A sudden knocking from my door shook me from my thoughts and made me focus on the person behind the door,
"Odessa, you wake yet? We need to be leaving soon!" Lupin called out,
"Yeah! Yeah! I'm up, just packing up everything," I called back, jumping up from bed to find something to wear,
"Very well. I shall be down in the pub once you've finished," Lupin spoke before I heard his footsteps fade away. Packing away the last few items back in my suitcase, I washed, changed into some fairly decent clothes and grabbed my belongings. Closing the door behind me, I bumped my case down the stairs to the main part of the pub where I met back up with Mr Lupin.
"Are you ready, Odessa?" Lupin asked as we headed out onto the streets of London,
"I'm nervous, Mr Lupin. I'm scared people won't like me because of what's happened in my family. I've gone my whole life without a friend and I really don't want that to happen again," I mumbled,
"You listen to me, Odessa Black. You are a wonderful girl who has had a lot of bad things happen to. Hogwarts is a wonderful place where you can start over and meet new people. I am certain you will have life-long friends after going there," Mr Lupin smiled,
"Are you sure? Who wants to be friends with mass murders daughter," I cried,
"You need to listen to me. Just be yourself and I am 100% sure you will find at least one good friend," Mr Lupin smiled, as he held my hand while going through a busy part of London. After a few minutes, and me wondering where on earth we were going, I turn to look at Mr Lupin,
"Where exactly are we going?" I called, over the business around me,
"We're going to Kings Cross Station," was all Mr Lupin said before we carried on. It must have been another 20-minute walk, lugging my heavy suitcase before we finally reached the train station. I was about to walk through the main entrance when Mr Lupin suddenly pulled me back,
"Odessa, I'm sorry but i can't go any further. I don't want to risk going any further. I'm afraid you'll have to go alone from here," Mr Lupin spoke which started to panic me,
"But I'm scared. Where do I go?" I asked while Mr Lupin put all my bags on a trolly,
"Here's your ticket. Platform 9 3/4 and then onto the Hogwarts Express," he explained which puzzled me immensely. Platform 9 3/4?
