| Chapter Four ~ Year One |

After finding my way to the girl's bathroom and changing into my uniform, I rejoined Harry and Ron, who were both suited and booted in their new uniform. Complimenting each other on our new look, we returned to our seats and continued to munch through our sweets, just to get rid of them all. Not long after, the train finally came up to a halt causing the three of us to look up at each other with a knowing look on our faces and just simply grinned,

"We're here," I beamed, following the boys out of the door and onto the Platform. Taking in the new surroundings, we couldn't help but hear a loud, gruff voice calling out to all first years. Looking for the source of the voice, my eyes fell upon a giant of a man stood on the side of the platform,

"Right, then! First years! This way, please! Come on, now, don't be shy! Come on now, hurry up!" the giant exclaimed. Harry, Ron, and I, along with all the other first years all bounded up to the man, who seemed to instantly recognise Harry,

"Hello, Harry," he smiled,

"Hey Hagrid," Harry grinned back,

"Whoa!" Ron and I gasped,

" 'ere I recognised you. You bumped into 'arry in Diagon Alley. What's yer name?" he asked with a very broad accent, looking down at me,

"I'm Odessa Black," I smiled to which made his eye widen slightly,

"You're Sirius Black's daugh'er?" he asked, which instantly made me panic. Crossing my fingers, I gingerly nodded, scared of what he might say next,

"Well, welcome to Hogwarts. I'm Hagrid by the way" he smiled, allowing me to uncross my fingers, and breath a sigh of relief, "Right then. This way to the boats! Come on, now, follow me," we then followed the giant down towards a large ominous lake where a number of boats lined the edge of the shore, "Right, get into groups of three or four and get in a boat," automatically, Harry, Ron and I jumped into a boat before it headed off towards our new home. Suddenly, we floated out of the docks and began to glide out across the water. Under the light the lamps gave out, we could just make out the beautiful castle in all it's glory. This was my new school! Wow.... The boats soon docked allowing all the first years to get out and ascend up the steps. However, as i began to climb i couldn't help but think of my parents. They had walked up these steps. They had gone to this school all those years ago. I can only help I can make them proud. We soon reached the top and progressed through a large set of doors and up another flight of steps inside the castle. At the top, we were greeted by a lady wearing all green,

"Welcome to Hogwarts. Now, in a few moments, you will pass through these doors and join your classmates. But before you can take your seats you must be sorted into your houses," she spoke which Harry and I to look at each other and gulp. I looked the other side to find the girl from earlier, Hermione and come and stood next to me, "They are Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin. Now, while you are here, your house will be like your family. Your triumphs will earn you house points. Any rule breaking, and you will lose points. At the end of the year, the house with the most points is awarded the house cup," the professor was suddenly interrupted by a small round boy jumping out and grabbing a Toad which had jumped onto the step. That must be Neville!

"Trevor!" he yelled but quickly backed away when he noticed the teacher watching him, "Sorry,"

"The sorting ceremony will begin momentarily," the woman spoke but entering through the large wooden doors. I let out a long breath, which i didn't know i was holding and looked at Harry who wore a worried face. Then, another boy's voice sounded above the silence which gained all our attention,

"It's true then, what they're saying on the train," all whispers stopped and everyone focused on this blonde boy which came and stood in front of Harry and I, "Harry Potter has come to Hogwarts," he exclaimed while scanning over all the other pupils before landing on me, "and a Black" this made everyone whisper to one another,
