Chapter 2 (At the Salone's House) POV- Bridget:

My alarm clock woke me up at 5:15 am in time for school. I smacked the alarm clock to shut it up and grabbed my pink iPhone from next to the alarm clock. Surfing through the songs, I found One Direction's "Up All Night" and plugged it into my speakers. That's the song I play if I really need, or want, to get up. Once, when Jennifer was sleeping, I blasted that in her ear. That really woke her up, and she threw a pillow at me for disturbing her. When I tried that same thing on Madison, she thought the house was on fire or something. So she ran me over trying to get to the fire extinguisher in the corner of the room. I stuck my foot out and tripped her, because I really didn't want all the extinguisher smoke everywhere. So then she got really mad, and chased me around the house with a pizza cutter and a whip cream can until I dove into the basement bathroom in hopes that I'd escape her. I never did that again to her.

I shook my head and broke free of the flashback, realizing "Up All Night" had stopped and "Another World" was starting to play. I got dressed and put on some lip gloss and light eye shadow, scarfing down a breakfast bar as I placed the makeup back into it's usual box on my dresser. Jennifer was already pulling her backpack closed as I jumped down the stairs. Today, we were carpooling with Madison, but luckily she was picking up Kara and Abbie first. Something flashed at the corner of my eye, and I saw Madison's yellow sports car pull down the driveway.

"Bye!" Mom called down the steps as we walked to the front door. I shouted a goodbye back as I slammed the door behind me, then locking it as I slipped my phone into my backpack's side pocket.

"Hurry up, Bridget the Poky Puppy!" Madison yelled as she rolled down the window.

"Shhh!" I gave her an evil eye as I quickly walked to her car. "You're going to wake the whole neighborhood!"

"They should be awake already! Heck, my dog's already awake!" she said as I slid into an empty seat in her car.

"The rooster's not even up! You're dog's only awake because you step on its tail every morning," I shot back jokingly.

"Well, It's not my fault that half-blind old fleabag can't see where he's going!" She backed up the driveway so quickly that I was catapulted against Kara, who sat in front of me.

"Sorry," I mumbled as Madison screeched into the road.

"Off we go!"
