"Wake up!"

"Come on,wake up!"

"Come on!"

Alec shook Zoe,struggling to wake her up. Zoe sprang up to her feet.

"What the hell?!" Zoe said,confused.

Alec bent down over Sierra, shaking her now as she mumbled and groaned.

"Look!" Alec said, getting Sierra up to her feet and pointing to the windows of the store.

Walkers.

A bunch of them.

They banged on the doors. They punched the windows. The shelves rumbled underneath their great strength. The chains rattled. Zoe's eyes widened, looking to Max. Max was still asleep. Alec hadn't payed attention to him,so Zoe ran up to him.She have him a good kick to his arm, causing him to jump, awakening. When he rose, Zoe pointed to the window. Max's eyes widened larger than Zoe's.

Abbey awoke on her own, seeing the window crowded with zombies immediately. She jumped to her feet and ran to the back along with the group. The chains rattled louder and the shelves roared. Zoe looked to Sierra.

"There's not much time," Zoe said,"We either have to fight them off enough to escape,or find some way to escape without opening the doors."

Sierra looked around the liquor store,up and down. There was no escape that she could find. The rest of the group looked too.

Abbey, pointing up to the ceiling, shouted to the group. "Guys!" She shouted, "There's a hole in the roof! We just need to hop onto the shelves and get onto the roof!"

The group looked up. They saw a gaping hole in the roof, big enough to fit two people. Abbey thought for a second, then gesturing Sierra over to the shelves that rumbled over and were on the ground.

"Lift these up," Abbey said, " and put two on top of each other to get us on top,and one more on the shelf closest to the roof to make it an easier reach."

Sierra nodded, as the two girls lifted one shelf and put it next to the shelf just below the hole.Once they put one more shelf on top, Sierra hopped onto the standing shelf, and helped Abbey put the last one on top. Sierra then jumped onto it. then leaped and pulled herself up onto the roof.

Zoe nodded, running as she quickly hopped onto the shelf and stepped up.She tossed herself up onto the roof. Abbey did the same, along with Max.

Once Alec got to the step,he couldn't throw himself up to the roof.Sierra and Max stood there.

"I can't do it!" ,Alec shouted,"What if I miss?"

Max held out one hand, and Sierra held out another.Alec smiled at Sierra's hand. She rolled her eyes,as Alec jumped up and grabbed both of their hands. It took great effort, but they got him to the top of the roof.

"Could've helped us lift a little.",Sierra said," Instead of letting us lift your deadweight."

Abbey found the edge of the roof. Zoe followed her. The two girls looked below them, seeing the walkers still banging on the doors. They pushed on the doors, and the many behind them pushed each other.

"Dumbasses.", Zoe mumbled, before walking back to the others.Abbey stood there, silent. She was about to scream, but instead followed Zoe.

"Now, how do we get down?",Zoe asked.

The group looked down and thought for a moment.

"There's no other way," Max spoke up,"but to jump."

Zoe,raged, walked up to Max and got close.

"Are you crazy?! Either bones will be broken, the zombies will catch us,or we'll die!" She shouted,Max somewhat attracted to how close she was.

Alec touched Zoe's shoulder,calmly speaking.

"Zoe, he has a point. There's no other way.Unless to wait here for the zombies to break through and figure out how to get up here."

Zoe looked at Alec. She then looked at the forest floor below her. She took a deep breath, then walked up to the rim of the roof. With one quick motion, she jumped. The group ran up to the edge, looking at her body. They couldn't tell if she was hurt,or even worse....dead. Max started breathing heavily, along with the rest of the group.

Slowly,Zoe stood up and shook herself off. She looked up to the group, now waving her hand and telling them to come down.

Next was Sierra. She hesitated at first, but then leaped off of the roof, landing on her feet, but stumbled to the ground. She stood up,and Alec followed. When he leaped,he landed on his side.He let out a small cry,but attempted to look strong as he stood and fixed himself. Max jumped, landing on his stomach. He lay there for a second.Zoe walked up to him,and helped him up.

Abbey looked down, and shouted to the group.

"I can't do it! It's too far down!"

Sierra mumbled to the group.

"Just slowly leave. She'll either jump to catch up with us or die up there."

The group slowly started walking off. Abbey screamed for them to wait. Seeing them start to walk off,she hesitated. Then, she jumped. She landed on her feet, but stumbled to her knees. She stood up quickly, and ran to catch up with the group.

. . .

The group ran deeper into the forest. All that was heard was the light stomping of their feet, and the breaths of the fatigued. They stopped, sitting on the forest floor and logs for a breath.

"Where the hell do we go now?!",Sierra said, pausing between breaths,"We're in the middle of a zombie infested forest with no food! We can't sleep,it could be our last breath!"

Abbey's eyes widened at the thought of dying. Her eyes turned glassy,as she was tearing up.She wiped her eyes, ignoring her emotions and struggling to stay strong. Max stood up,speaking to the group now.

"Well,we just have to keep walking. We'll find another town.",he said.

The group looked to one another, then slowly stood up and started walking.
