Logon’s pov

I woke slowly to the sound of birds. Slowly, I eased myself out of bed, noticing that I was still in my uniform. I grabbed a pistol and placed it in a holster. I moved out of my room and made it about two meters before I remembered. I gasped as I slumped against the wall. I heard the door open behind me, so I spun wiping my pistol out.

“It’s ok Logon, it’s me, Karren.” She said as she walked forward. I let my hand fall, still holding the gun.

“May I see that gun Logon?” Karren asked when she came level with me. I looked up as I passed her the gun. She wore the shirt and cargo pants of her uniform, with a pistol in holster under her arm.

“Oh my, this is a world war 2 machine pistol. Cool, it takes more powerful rounds than the original.” She said in astonishment.

“Yep. I modified it myself.” I replied proudly.

“Are you hungry?” Karren asked.

“Yer, you?”

“Yep.”

“Cool, come with me to the kitchen, I can put something together.” I lead her down the stairs to the kitchen,

“What would you like for breakfast then?” I asked her as I walked over to the cupboard, grabbed two bowls and turned to her.

“if you have coco pops, that will do nicely.” She replied. I grabbed the box and filled both bowls, then pored milk over them.

“Are you feeling all right Logon?” she asked as she moved over to the table.

“Yes, I am. Well, other than almost constant rage, I’m putting a brave face on it” I replied. She nodded.

“What time are we suppose to be meeting Triss again?” I asked as I suddenly remembered. This caught Karren off guard,

“Shit, I’ve forgotten all about that. I think it was nine at your turnoff.” She replied. I looked at my watch, it was ten past nine.

“um, it’s ten past nine.” I told Karren.

“Oh hell. Lets get ready.” She said jumping up. Suddenly, there came a knock at the door.

I’ll get it while you sneak out the back.” I told her as I walked to the door. I looked at my combat uniform, realising Triss would be suspicious if I came out in army style gear. I quickly moved to my room, changed my long sleave shirt for a sleeveless vest. I moved to the door and opened it, acting like I’d just got up.

“Hi Triss, sorry I slept in.” I said lamely.

“Oh it’s alright, I slept late as well.” She replied.

“Please come in.” I said. Once she had past me, I scanned the garden for Karren. I saw her looking at me from behind a tree. I nodded at her and shut the door. I came into the lounge and saw Triss siting on the couch.

“can we just wait here till Karren comes?” she asked. There came a knock at the door.

“I bet that’ll be her know.” I said moving toward the door. I opened it to see Karren standing there.

“Sorry I’m late, I slept in.” she said loud enough for Triss to hear.

“Come in.” I replied.
