As I walked throughout the city, I felt at home. I was content being the scariest being to walk these streets. I was every woman, child and grown man's, worst nightmare. And somehow, for some reason this thought made me laugh. Unbeknownst to them, they were in such danger by just standing next to me, by walking past me, by allowing my dark eyes to register their existence, they were giving their lives away. They were dancing with death, the quiet devil.

The humans were like sheep, they were quiet, sometimes gentle creatures but rarely, but they were sheep not for those things. They were sheep because they were easy prey for the wolf. They were hardly worth the time and energy expelled to kill them. They could have such potential but instead they walk this earth as mundane, boring creatures, just following the other, they didn't have minds of their own. They followed in a beings previous footsteps. Humans don't catch on, they aren't quick to notice or learn from their mistakes. I suppose that's why I didn't feel much when I ended their lives. I was almost always doing them a kindness, a service, by silencing their quickened breath.

But Nina was different. Nina wasn't a sheep, she wasn't prey. Nina was a fighter. She deserves more respect, more dignity than a human death. She deserves to be one of us, she is worthy of eternity. I'm convinced I love her, if I ever knew what it was, I want her to feel the same. Why else would I go through all this trouble to save her, look after her, care for her? She's a human. But she's much more than some human, she's mine.

As I wandered the city's streets, I came to the park bench I sometimes sit at. On its bench was a young woman, approximately twenty or so. She had brunette hair and hazel eyes. A true beauty, anyone could agree. She sat alone- looking about, like she was lost. All I had to do was play the role of the 'helpful stranger', and send her on her way.

"Miss?" I addressed her. She quickly snapped her head in my direction, gazing at me from the bottom of my shoes, on up to my face. She was scared, definitely lost within the city. She must've liked what she had seen though, as she returned a small, but timid smile.

I grinned. But didn't falter my cautious facade. I was going to 'help' her get to where she needed to go.

"Evening Sir, have you any idea how to get from where we are presently, to the docks? I need to board a ship in the morning." Ah. She was becoming content with my presence. Calmed down significantly, I might add.

"Why yes, I suppose I do." I replied, with a slight grin. What she didn't catch were my darkly lit blue eyes. Those gave me away. I was a predator, ready to strike. A killer. She should've been more observant. If she had been maybe she'd of lived.

"I just so happen to be going past that way myself. Shall I accompany you, my dear?" She perked up to the prospect of it. I had this one. She would be an easy meal tonight. "Yes, thank you, sir."

---------------------------
I had successfully knocked her out, she was unconscious in my arms as I carried her down the stairs, past the numerous locking steel doors. Once in my room, I set her gently on the bed. I chained her left leg to the wall with the restraints I had previously installed. As if I really needed them. There would be no escape once you were here. These concrete walls would be her last memories. Fond for me, not so fond in her perspective.

She shuffled uneasily in her sleep. I took this opportunity to place the gag in her mouth. She squirmed a little in protest but like the rest, she didn't go far. I usually didn't take this much time to just enjoy my captives. Usually I settled for a quick meal, hardly having the time to place the bodies afterwards. But tonight, I felt like celebrating. Nina was alive- for now. She would be mine soon.

As I shifted my weight in the bed, the brunette slowly let her eyes drift open. Now the fun would start.
