I Don’t Do Valentine’s Day
PMCrisostomoS
There’s just a lot of things I’d like to point out
About this whole special day and whatnot
It’s all about the love but mostly the lovers
But everyone keeps bringing out the cash and papers
Happiness can’t be bought
But it seems love can
They all go sweet for twenty-four hours
Then after that is all almost sour
It’s more for the sake of the event
Rather than the important feelings that are evident
And I don’t do Valentine’s Day
Never have, probably never will
But instead we do our anniversary
For she is someone who’s better than the title “valentine”
She is my lover, my better half
I love her just as much on that day in February
And just as much on every day else absolutely
Because a relationship isn’t just something to be celebrated
It is experienced
And mine tells me that I could do so much more
Be so much more
But I’d rather surprise her on any day
Just not on the typical fourteenth
