Chapter 1- A Visitor
Kensi's POV:
Darkness surrounded me. I was alone chained to the ground. Then a light illuminates a face, one of the afghan Taliban soldiers. He smiled down at me, pointed a gun at my head and pulled the trigger. I awaken suddenly screaming and sat up.
God I hate dreaming.
As I tried to relax I looked around my room. The sunshine crept through the window and brightened everything. I looked around and sighed. The lack of being allowed to leave had allowed my imagination to get the best of me. I had allowed past memories to get the best of me again. I stretched and sat on the edge. I looked down and examined my torso. The knife wound had finally stopped bleeding but it was still pretty painful. I slowly got to my feet and walked to the bathroom. I undressed and carefully climbed into the shower. The hot water felt so good and refreshing. The heat helped calm my nerves. My mind began to wander.
It seemed to wander more and more often; to past memories and especially Deeks. I wasn't allowed to leave my house until my protection detail showed up. I had been 2 days and I was getting so bored. Hetty had called me yesterday to inform me that they would arrive tomorrow around noon. I literally could not wait. I had watched every rerun of America's Next Top Model was actually getting sick of it. I had even grown tired of my favorite movie, Titanic. If I wasn't watching TV I was cleaning, disassembling, and reassembling my SIG-Sauer P2229 E2 and my Remington 700PSS sniper rifle. Both were put back together and sitting on my kitchen table.
After I finished showering I stepped out and put a towel around me. I looked at myself in the mirror. I didn't look as bad as I felt. Most of the cuts and bruises on my body were healing very well. Old scares from Afghanistan were slightly faded but were still clearly visible. My stomach was still tender. I didn't tell Hetty because I knew she would have me under lock and key. After drying I dressed in a sports bra and yoga pants and re-wrapped my torso and headed to the kitchen. I turned on my coffee maker and pulled out a box of lucky charms from the pantry.
Suddenly I heard a creak. I grabbed a Sig off the counter and stood with my back against the wall. Someone was here. As the sound of footsteps began to fade toward the direction of the bedroom I abandoned my hiding place and looked around the corner.
A man was holding a gun as he entered my bedroom. He didn't look like one of the kidnappers. He was wearing a black suit. I made sure not to make a sound as I followed him to my bedroom. He went in and looked around and then went to my bed and pulled out his phone. I took that opportunity and lunged at the him. The force of my lung knocked us both onto the bed. We struggled for a while and both our guns and his cell fell to the floor. Finally I got him into a headlock and squeezed. Slowly his fighting began to come to a stop and he passed out face down on the bed. After he collapsed I finally got a really good look at him. He had a pretty good build but wasn't overly muscular. His golden blond hair was short; cut close on the sides.
I jumped off the bed and grabbed the kitchen knife and set it on the night stand. When I unloaded the magazine from the guy's gun and set it down something felt odd. I picked up the empty gun and held it in my hand. It felt familiar, too familiar. I examined it more closely and gasped. I knew this gun. I set it back on the nightstand and refocused my attention on the man.
It couldn't be... could it, after 5 years?
With a little force I flipped the man over and nearly fainted. He looked so different from the last time I had seen him. He was almost unrecognizable except for a few features on his face; his lips actually. I had kissed those lips so many times that I had memorized them.
What he hell was he doing here?
I searched his pockets and found his wallet, car keys, and badge. But it wasn't a LAPD badge. It was from NCIS. This didn't make any sense.
