Chapter 19: Diantha

After another long day of battling I headed back to the hotel to get some rest.

"Katherine?" I turned my head expecting to see Diantha but instead I saw a Gardevoir.

"You must be Diantha's partner." She nodded.

"She wishes for you to come with me." I followed Gardevoir towards a studio building.

"Welcome Katherine." I saw Diantha standing at the end of the hall as we entered.

'Thank you, but why did you call me here?" I asked confused.

"Well, there's something I want to show you." She started glowing as her keystone reacted to Gardevoir's mega stone.

"Mega Gardevoir..." I said as Gardevoir finished transforming. It was beautiful, like a queen almost.

"This is my partner, she has never been defeated." I knew now why she was telling me this.

"You believe I will make it to you don't you?" She nodded.

"Gardevoir and I look forward to that battle."

"As do Umbreon and I, allow me to show you my partner's Mega Evolution as well." My keystone started glowing as well and Umbreon changed forms quickly.

"Mega Umbreon, very elegant for a Pokemon such as herself." Diantha said smiling.

"I could say the same for Gardevoir." The two pokemon went back to normal.

It had happened just as Diantha had predicted, I had beaten Ash in the finals and now it was time for me to battle Diantha for her title as Champion. Champion vs. Champion I wonder how the outcome would be.

"The battle for the title of Champion is about to begin. The challenger Kat will be the only one allowed to switch Pokemon and the battle will be over when all of one side's Pokemon are all unable to battle. Let the battle begin!"

"Goodra, lets start this battle of!" Diantha called out.

"Alright then Sylveon let's make this a battle no one will forget!"

"Such a beautiful Pokemon, but we won't lose. Goodra use Dragon Pulse on the battlefield!"

"Sylveon use Moonblast!" Sylveon jumped into the air and blast the Moonblast down on to Goodra.

"Goodra is unable to battle, the winner is Sylveon."

"Great job, Sylveon!" Little did I know that this battle was far from over. Sylveon lost to Swanna, then Swanna lost to Jolteon, who in turn lost to Amaura, who lost to Leafeon, who lost to her Talonflame, who lost to my Glaceon, who lost to Tyrunt, who lost to Charizard, who lost to Gardevoir.

"Alright Umbreon let's go!" I called out finally. She jumped forward. Gardevoir smiled brightly.

"This is it, Katherine. I think we should see who will win this Mega battle." I nodded.

"I could agree more."

"Go beyond evolution Mega Evolve!" We both called out as our keystones and pokemon glowed. Mega Gardevoir and Mega Umbreon appeared before everyone.

"Gardevoir use Psychic!"

"Use Shadow Ball!" Umbreon blasted the Shadow Ball towards Gardevoir. It exploded when the Psychic caught it. A smoky haze appeared on the battlefield.

I looked at Umbreon and nodded, she jumped into the haze and used Double Team. Then aimed her Dark Pulse at Gardevoir.

"Use Moonblast!" Umbreon blasted her with the Dark Pulse, causing Gardevoir to fall to the ground. "Gardevoir!"

"Use Shadow Claw!" Umbreon took off towards Gardevoir. Diantha nodded and Gardevoir jumped into the air.

"Moonblast!" Umbreon was blown back.

"Umbreon are you alright?" She nodded and got to her feet.

"Checkmate use Draining Kiss." Gardevoir appeared in front of Umbreon in an instant.

"Do it Umbreon!" Umbreon jumped out of the ground, then blasted Gardevoir up close with Shadow Claw. She went flying into the wall behind Diantha.

"Gardevoir!" The smoke cleared and Gardevoir was still standing. Umbreon was breathing heavily though.

"We have to finish this quickly."

Are you with me, Umbreon?

You know I always am, Kat.

Then let's do this!

"Iron Tail!" I called out and Umbreon sped forward.

"Shadow Ball!" Diantha called.

"We don't ever quit! Umbreon go!" I called out and she sliced the Shadow Ball in half and slammed it down on Garveoir's head.

"Gardevoir!"

This time when the smoke cleared Garvdevoir was on the ground in her normal form.

"We did it..." Umbreon changed back to normal and collapsed to the ground, but the ref had already said we had won the match. I rushed out to Umbreon and picked her up gently. "Thank you so much Umbreon you were amazing, because of you we beat Gardevoir, we beat her undefeatable Gardevoir."

"We did?" I nodded and hugged her.

"Thank you."

"Congratulations Katherine, you are now the Champion of Kalos." I got to my feet and shook Diantha and Gardevoir's hands.

'Thank you for such a great battle Diantha." I said smiling.

"You certain gave me a run for my money, I really thought we had you." I chuckled.

"Yeah, I thought that for a little bit too."
