Escape their breath
Heating the sunlight
Forming nausea within the raysMoonlight fades with
Freedom
His caress comes with the
Pointless words
Empty beauty
Empty loveThe sun returns the prison
Their eyes mark beauty as
A raging flame controlled
By the whims of menFree is the fire of the
Lightless night
Gone is the fear
Home is his armsTo know an inescapable fate
As my own
Is to install an ever pressing
Cage around my soul
Soundless screams reverberate
Until I runLike lava
I force myself from
Their vile gaze
Like the Redwoods
I stand tallFrom the fear
My tears ask
How to change
My roots
Every tree needs sunlightBut can I silence the spotlight?
