*Nicole's POV*
Bleary-eyed and heart aching I blearily opened my eyes. They were thankfully were met with the sun just beginning to set. I sat up and glanced out the window that my head was pressed up against, I was greeted by the familiar trees that showed that we were just about three minutes or so from the bunker.
"Oh hey, Nicole. How are you feeling?" Sam said upon noticing the slight rustle of my clothes against the leather of the Impala.
I looked over to the passenger seat and saw Sam with slightly ruffled hair looking extremely tired. I've always been jealous of his hair. It's able to go into like nice ready mode without even brushing his hair! My hair was needed at least 10 minutes in order to get it half-bad.
"I'm doing okay. How about you," I said with a croak. I wonder why my voice is all scratchy.
For some reason, he looked at me with a slight flash of concern before returning to his normal self. "Doing good. Tired though because somebody was playing Metallica full blast when I started to sleep," Sam tattled before shooting a glance at a smirking Dean.
"I'd say I'm sorry but I'm not," Dean replied while refraining a laugh.
Sam just scoffed and rolled his eyes.
"How long was I out?"
Sam tensed, "Uh, I don't know. Quite some time I guess since we're almost to the bunker now."
Strange... Usually, he's more specific than this. Oh well. "Hmm, I guess."
Dean spoke next, "So Nicole. I've been talking with Cas and we think that you should take lessons from him to explore your powers. Although you are different from him in probably many ways we think it's better for him to be with you rather than someone else because-."
"If something goes wrong he can teleport out or stop me."
His worry lines get a little worse on his tanned face. With a defeated sigh he nods his head.
"Okay. Just let me know what the plan is."
"Cool, I'll tell Cas about it."
And that was that.
For some reason, there was a lot of tension in the car. And I know that it wasn't about the awkward 'we need you to learn with Castiel so you don't accidentally blow us up because you never knew you could' reason.
I wish I could figure out what may have been going on but the familiar clearing of trees signified that we were at the bunker and boy am I ready to get out of this car.
-The Next Day-
I don't know why in the morning when you first wake up it feels like you hadn't breathed the whole entire night. The moment your eyes flutter open from sleep you always let out a slight gasp of air as if it was the first time in ages.
I could never quite put it into my mind why this may happen. Maybe I need a CPAP machine. I just don't know. And that concludes random thoughts with Nicole. I shake my head as if to clear my thoughts and turned to my left to see the bunker slowly heading into view.
Dean finally started to play the radio, the first song was ending and a new one started playing. It's called Heat of the Moment or something like that. Whatever it was, Sam slammed the radio off so quickly I thought he was going to break it before looking at Dean with the biggest bishface I've ever seen.
Almost as soon it was off, it turned back on again. "Hello Deano. Samantha."
I jump at the new voice next to me. I turn to see no one but Dean screeched the car to a stop before looking at Sam in panic.
"Did you?"
"Yeah, Dean I did."
As the Impala pulled up my back started to ache, I realized just how much I wanted out of the car. Not that I don't LOVE Baby it's just that my back hurts from sitting in the car. (Please don't kill me fandom on the other side of the fourth wall.) The three of us all grabbed our bags and headed inside.
Castiel was right by the doorway with even more of a concerned face than normal.
"Did you see him too?"
Dean hesitated, "We heard him. But-."
"But you couldn't see me."
I turn my head to see a middle aged man that was like 5'8ish in an army green colored jacket with a dark red shirt underneath. I don't know how he just appeared but everyone seemed shocked except Castiel.
"Gabriel, Jesus man. I can't believe you're actually alive," Sam says giving him a double armed hug.
There's definitely something between them but I won't mention it. Most everyone here is queer, tall, and plaid-wearing.
The man, Gabriel, seemed to notice me, "And who's shorty over here?"
Excuse me? Who does this guy think he is?
"I'm an archangel darling. That means I can do what I want," Gabriel said, bending over to look me in the face and getting really close to it.
"Gabe, be careful, we don't know what she can do yet," Castiel said.
He stopped caring about me and turned back to what I'm guessing is his brother. Don't assume family dynamics, Nicole. Especially if they're angels. You don't even know how that works.
"I'm not really concerned with short stack over here. Anyways, Dean, Sam, new chick I have no idea who she is, we need to get you guys glasses that have been burned in holy oil."
Feeling awkward and being the person I am, I said, "Uh, my name's Nicole. And I have prescription glasses I don't think I can do that."
The newcomer just doubled over laughing while Dean just chuffed, "Nicole if you need glasses burned in holy oil I think glasses clarity is the least of your problems."
"He's right Nike. They won't do anything to your glasses but we have a bigger problem,' he turned to the guys,' Lucifer didn't really kill me. He made it look like it but he just sent me to some messed up dimension where blue was green and red was yellow. Don't think it's too bad but when you can't tell what's land and what's water and the difference between blood and urine. Anyways, on our way back, I released the Canibus Caelum, or I call them Holy Hells. They are like the heaven version of hellhounds. And they escaped. There's five of them and I need your help getting them back. I managed to burn numbers on them so we can identify which ones we have."
Dean pinched the bridge of his nose, "Of course you did."
He threw his hands up in defense, "Don't blame me Deano, I'm back aren't I."
Before Dean could say anything, Sam interjected him, "Yeah and we're so happy you're back."
"Whelp,' I said,' where do we start?"
---------
Guess who's back, back, back, back again. Author's back, back, back, tell your friends, friends, friends.
Actually please do I need validation for my crappy writing.
Anyways, I'm moving to Alaska (Hmu people in Anchorage I need friends) and so I'm trying to do some writing as a stress relief. Also, message me because I need to talk about Destiel in the new season. If you want to read a non-fandom book, I'm publishing my NaNoWriMo story from last year and hoping to finish it so that'd be sick. If you go to that book from this one comment, Jesus has spoken and I'll try to reply with mis hijos and it can be our 'I like your shoelaces' thing.
First thing that pops into my head: Do demons need jackets when they haunt during the night time.
