[Untitled : Chapter 8]
"Am, do I look all right?" Jessica turned around a few time and looked at the plane mirror.
"Mum, you looked great! If you spend too much time on staring at the mirror, we will be running late for the meeting." Amanda told Jessica to hurry.
The drive was fine and Jessica was nervous and was not well prepared after her daughter told her that her form teacher was a huge fan of Jessica's books.
As Jessica saw a man in his forties and a girl, she felt that she had seen the man before. The only thing that came up in her mind was the name 'Gerald William Danielson' .
"Mum, this is Natalie and her father, Mr Nelson." Amanda introduced them to Jessica.
"Gerald?" Jessica asked, and he smiled.

"Mum, Natalie and I will be going to the bookstore to collect our next week schedule, I will see you st home." Amanda told her mother before heading off with her beat friend.
"Guess that we are alone now. Why don't we go to the coffeehouse to catch up." Gerald suggested.
"Sure." Jessica nodded.
They arrived the coffeehouse and they had their usual drinks, the same order they had twenty-four years ago. It seems like they had left the present frozen, rewind the clock and go back to the time when they were eighteen.
He was the popular guy in school and she was just the plain Jane geek who live next door. They were best friends and they fall for each other, and on that one fine day, they went separate way for their dreams. They gave up what they had for their future, they agreed if they ever meet each other again they will never walk away. It was like a funny joke but they remembered. He went overseas to further his studies about law and she stayed continued her little adventure of imagination which build up her career.
Now they are back at year 2011, in their forties, they had their own kids, family and successful careers. They met in this little old town, in this coffeehouse they had their little conversation.
"I didn't really thought I will saw you here. I thought you went to England." Jessica started the conversation.
"Me too, well... I came back after a couple of years then, I heard that you had moved to the City after your marriage. So it quite a shock to found you here." Gerald continued.
"Well, I had a divorce, so I came back here to start a new life with Amanda and it actually work well." Jessica smiled.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know, wow it pretty weird, years ago we were some teenagers now we were left with a sixteen years old kid each." Gerald chuckled at the fact as if it was a joke.
Before Jessica could ask about what is the hidden meaning. "Emma passed away when Natalie was four during an overseas trip." He replied as if he read her mind.
"Oh, I'm sorry." Jessica looked down at the table.
"Hey, so how's your new life? I know it's great, I heard that you were busy with your new projects and book." Gerald changed the subject immediately.
They chatted about their life and some old days memories, it feels good to meet up an old friend.

Today was the day of audition for "I CAN SING" , and Amanda was nervous, her hands felt wet, her legs were weak. It was the first time she went for an audition and singing in front of people.
"You will be fine, remember to relax just enjoy and forget about the audition." Kenneth gave her a friendly hug.
"Thanks Ken." Amanda smile.
"Amanda Carlisle" The crew called for her. Kenneth mouthed ' Good Luck' and she went off to the quiet room.
She held her guitar bag tightly, when she walked to the center of the room, introduced herself to the three judges sitting in front of her , took out the guitar and settled down on the white chair. With the green light given by the judges, she started to played the guitar and sing 'Breakaway' by Kelly Clarkson.
She actually forget about the fact that she was singing in an audition, she felt so freely, drifting away to somewhere and she enjoyed it.
When she realized the song end, she stood up and saw the judges with expressions of shocked, joy and satisfied.
" Congratulation Amanda, we will see you soon." The blond judge had a lit up face and announced as she passed her the paper that indicated she had passed the audition.
"Thank you." Amanda grabbed took her guitar and the paper and ran out of the room.
She saw Kenneth standing at the corridor and started the little act.
"How was the audition?" He looked at her waiting for the answer.
"I screwed it." Amanda gave him a sad face.
" It's all right, you know you had done your best, how about I treat you ice-cream to cheer you up." Kenneth tried to cheer Amanda up.
Then she waved the blue paper at him. He stared it and soon he realized she had cleared the audition and she had tricked him. He tickled her, and she ran out to the carpark.
" How dare you lie to me." He asked with his fake serious face.
"Dear friend, I said I screwed it and I thought you understand what I mean." She said sheepishly.
It took a few seconds before Kenneth realized what the weird girl meant.
" So do I still get the ice-cream treat?" Amanda asked jokingly.
"Nope, since you had done well in the audition and I was your guitar tutor and you tricked me, so you owe me the treat." He laughed.
"Hey! I didn't tricked you, okay I will shoved the ice-cream earthquake at you since I owe you that." Amanda chuckled.
As promise, Amanda treated Kenneth an awesome ice-cream earthquake but didn't shoved it on this face.
