Quinn looked out of the window on the bus as the kids got on. No one seemed to sit with Quinn on the bus. They all seemed to stay away from him as if he had a deadly disease. Quinn had never really wronged any of them. He was just different. He dresses in almost all black every day. He was too skinny for his age. Some people thought he was normally that skinny. He had a secret. He was anorexic. He didn't feel as if eating was important. If he did ever eat it would just be something little like an apple. He also blasted his music everywhere he went. It was his way to drown out the sounds of the earth and the people. He prepared himself for walking into the school that day. He packed gauze in case he bled. He put his money and valuables into his zipped pocket in his backpack. He seemed to have done everything he could have. Today he would have an okay day. He might even escape school with only getting beaten up today.
As Quinn got off of the bus he scurried to hide in the bushes. His bullies always seemed to be waiting for him outside of his bus. He was supposed to just slip past the kids. They seemed to not be paying attention to him. Maybe they had stopped picking on him. He thought. Maybe they finally got in trouble for what they have done. He hid in the bushes just in case anyone had found him. Quinn saw something new. His bullies were surrounding a new kid, a girl. She was average height, almost short. She had short chocolate brown hair, with the front hairs pinned back with a hair clip. She was wearing a Black Veil Brides shirt. They better not be messing with her, Quinn thought, no one messes with a member of the BVB (Black Veil Brides) army and gets away with it. We are a family. Quinn wanted to help but nothing seemed to be going wrong. Maybe he could talk with her when they aren't around. This seemed to be the best idea for him to stay safe. The morning seemed to slip past him as if it never happened. Normally Quinn gets teased by now. He decided to let the idea of it go and enjoy his nice day.
At lunch Quinn did what he normally does. He went to his locker to get his sketchbook and media. He sat down at a tree. He has sat at that tree since he first started getting bullied. He found it as a nice quiet place where he could go and just draw, sometimes cry. Quinn decided to draw a skeleton man wearing a suit in a creepy mansion with a chandelier made out of bones. The skeleton man would be pulling a chained girl with no face into the darkness. In the middle of Quinn drawing the chandelier a girl came up to him. The girl he saw that morning.
"Hi." the girl said with a bright smile.
"Um," Quinn said. "Hi."
"I noticed your Green Day shirt. What's your favorite album of theirs? Mines American Idiot ." She said overwhelming him.
"My favorite is Nimrod," He answered not sure if he should be happy someone is talking to him, or worried he might have just made friends with a fangirl. "I'm not sure of you know this but people here don't talk to me."
"Well why is that?" She asked.
"I'm just different," Quinn replied. "You never told me your name."
"okay," she said. " number one; being different is awesome. Number two; my names Scott."
"Scott," he questioned. "Like the boy name."
"People need to stop thinking that their is only boy names and only girl names. In Black Veil Brides theirs Ashley. People also need to stop assuming one's gender just because of their name or the way they look." Scott said.
"Sorry," Quinn said. "I didn't mean to make you mad."
"It's okay," Scott said. "People just need to not assume. Just another thing that is wrong with today's society. Why aren't you eating?"
"Uh I just didn't feel like eating lunch today" Quinn answered. He knew he was lying he just didn't think she needed to know. Quinn and Scott spent the rest of the lunch period talking and getting to know each other. They realized they had a lot in common with each other. Quinn felt as if he actually made a friend. That is what he had finally done. They were to be friends forever.
