Johnny Ghost smiled as he ran up to the playground, laughing as he was being chased by his best friend, Johnny Toast.

"I'm gonna get you, Johnny!" Sixteen-year-old Johnny Toast yelled, running after his fourteen-year-old best friend, Johnny Ghost.

Ghost ran up the slide, looking back down at the foreign exchange student from Britain.

"This isn't fair, Johnny..." Toast huffed, crossing his arms as Ghost smiled.

"It's simple, really, Johnny. Use the ladder," Ghost shouted, pointing at the metal ladder on the other side.

Toast ran to the other side, looking at the smaller boy's thick brown strands of hair that had a somewhat gold glint from the sun. He looked into the boy's chocolatey eyes, seeing the boy's hopes and dreams.

Toast shook his head, climbing up the ladder and sitting down at the top. Ghost sat next to him and squinted out at the field in front of them.

"Johnny, where are you--"

Toast was cut off by Ghost's breathing pattern become heavy and his eyes widening.

"Johnny? Are you okay?" Toast whispered, placing his hand on Ghost's shoulder.

"Them, Johnny..." Ghost whispered as Toast followed Ghost's gaze to the people out in the field.

It was a group of three kids. Two boys and a girl.

The girl had lush red hair, pulled up into a braided bun on the top of her head. She wore a flowing green dress with black lace on the ends. Black ribbon hung out of her hair. Thirteen-years-old.

The first boy had shoulder-length black hair that was ratty and unkept. He had snake green eyes, his pupils narrow. He was sixteen.

The other boy, the main one, had short blonde hair. His eyes were ocean blue and freckles dotted his face. His skin was tan. Fifteen-years-old.

"What about them?" Toast asked before he noticed Ghost's body shaking in fear.

"T-They're not good people..." Ghost mumbled as Toast narrowed his eyes on them.

"What do they do to you?" Toast asked, watching the two boys talk as the girl's eyes found Ghost.

"Go!" Ghost yelled, shoving Toast down the slide, sliding down immediately after.

"Hey!" The girl shouted as Toast looked at her in confusion, but Ghost wasn't sticking around for a second. Ghost gripped Toast's hand and took off sprinting the opposite direction.

"Johnny?! What's happening?!" Toast yelled as Ghost led him through the woods that surrounded the abandoned school and playground.

Ghost had gone there for peace when things at home didn't go so well. He decided to show his best friend, so they had a place to meet up.

But that was ruined by the group of bullies.

"Just keep running! I'll explain later!" Ghost answered back as Toast turned back, finding Daniel net even two feet behind him. Maxwell and Aimee not far behind.

"Dammit!" Ghost yelled as he ducked under some bushes, dragging Toast along with him.

Once the two were almost out, Ghost's foot got caught on a root, causing him to stumbled and collapse on the pavement, Toast falling next to him.

"Get up!" Ghost yelled, grabbing Toast's wrists and pulling him back to his feet.

They took off towards Ghost's house. Once it was in sight, Ghost froze. Not moving as his hands opened, causing Toast to keep running without him.

Toast stopped, looking back as he stared at the kids that walked up behind Ghost.

"Johnny!" Toast yelled as Ghost looked down at his feet.

"I can take them, y'know..." Ghost heard a voice whisper. His heart started racing as he shot his head up to look at Toast.

"J-Johnny..." Was the last thing Ghost mumbled before forgetting everything.

Everything a faded memory...
