Chapter 7

The Hidden Valley

We were being cased around the valley until... we were surrounded. Everybody was yelling in chaos and I started to freak out but I knew we would get out of it somehow. Oh, and to make matters worse Gandalf seem to be missing, at the worst times too!

Gandalf pops out of some rocks and yells, "this way you fools!" I jump in and slide down a "mini" slide. Thorin was covering us and once everyone got in Thorin jumped it. he landed on top of me...awkward. He mouthed the word "sorry" and got right back to business.

A horn blares, that is not an Orc horn, it's an Elvish horn. Just then a Orc was shot and came tumbling into our hide out. It hide an arrow in its neck, Thorin pulled it out of its neck, "Elves."

"I cannot see where the pathway leads, do we follow it or not?" Dwalin asked.

"Follow it of corse," buffer instructed.

We walked thought this little slit in the mountain, we could barely fit I wonder how Bomber is doing? We walked for about 5 minutes until there was an opening. Right before I stepped out into the open air I felt something, a little tingle in my ears and my face. I felt my ears, they were pointy like Elf ears I let out a little gasp and turned to Gandalf. He looked away and said, "The valley of Imladris! In common tongue it is know by another name..."

"Rivendell," Bilbo finished.

"Here lies the last homely house East of the seas," Gandalf continued.

Of corse Thorin had something to say,"This was your plan all along, to seek refuge with our enemy!"

"You have no enemy's here, Thorin Oakenshield," Gandlf told him, "the only ill will here is that which you bring yourself."

"Do you the Elves will give our quest there blessing? They will try to stop us."

"Of corse they will be we have questions to be answered. If we are going to be successful we will need to handle this with tact and respect, and no small degree of charm. Which is why you will leave the talking to me."

I feel so weird, I have pointy ears! Why in Durin's name do I have pointy ears! I was born and raised in Erebor even though I didn't know her, my father said that she was the prettiest dwarf of all, she didn't think woman should have beards so she shaved hers off.

We finally got to the entrance to the city an Ellion walked down the stairs towards us, "Mithrandir!"

"Ah Lindir!" Gandalf replied.

"Lastannem i athrannedh i Vruinen," Lindir said to Gandalf.

(we heard you crossed into the valley)

"I need to speak to Lord Elrond," Gandalf informed Lindir.

"My Lord Elrond is not here," Lindir told Gandalf.

"Not here? Where is he?" Gandalf asked confused. Once he finished the Elvish horn rang again, that answered his question. I heard the sound of many horse Hoofs on the pathway. When the came they circled around us and stopes the person in charged jumped off his horse and approached Gandalf.

"Gandalf!" The Elf said.

"Lord Elrond!" Gandalf greeted him.

"Mellonnen! Mo evínedh?" Gandalf aid to Lord Elrond.

(My friend where have you been?)

"Farannem 'lamhoth i udul o charad. Dagannem rim na Iant Vedui. Strange for Orcs to come so close to our borders. Something or someone brought the near," Elrond replied while dismounting his horse.

(We've been hunting a pack of Orc that came up from the south. We slew a number near the Hidden Pass...)

"Ah, that may have been us," Gandalf told Lord Elrond. Thorin stepped forward.

"Welcome Thorin, son of Thrian," Elrond greeted Thorin.

"I do not believe we have met," Thorin said to Lord Elrond.

"You have your grandfathers bearing, I knew Thror when he was king under the mountain," Elrond told Thorin.

"Indeed, he made no mention of you," Thorin replied. How rude of him where are his manors?

"Nartho i noer, toltho i viruvor. Boe i annam vann a nethail vin," Elrond said to Thorin.

(Light the fires, bring the wine. we must feed our guests.)

"What is he sayin', does he offer us insult?" Gloin asked with a tone of voice.

"No master Gloin he is offering you food," Gandalf informed him.

"Ah well, in that case lead on," Gloin said embarrassed
