Hope has a crazy soon to be ex-husband after her with connections in law enforcement. She's paranoid that if she has any kind of a public profile, he'll find her...and finish her off, figuratively and literally. His abuse has gotten progressively worse, and she just barely manages to get herself out a house barricaded to keep her indoors and out of sight. She's escaped with nothing but her wits and the clothes on her back, and has been subsisting on the fringes of society on the streets of Minneapolis for days...in deplorable conditions.

Filthy, exhausted, and starving she starts rooting through the dumpster behind a fast food restaurant when help suddenly appears from a most unexpected source...
