Mark sighed as he read the letter he got the other day. It was yet another from his former friend Asia. Oh how he would love to just hear her voice and speak to her again. But, life just doesn't work that way. He is an idol. He can't be seen with even his cousin without some crazy story being created about them dating.
He wanted to tell her, he really did. But he felt that she would hate him because of it. So he just gradually ignored her until he just stopped talking all together. It hurt him to see her trying and trying to the point where she started writing him letters.
He sighed as he got up and headed for the door. He wanted to try and catch her before she left. Hoping that he wouldn't be too late. He ran. Ran out of the dorm and all the way to her small apartment she once called home.
Once he was at her door he stopped, took a deep breath, and knocked. But to his dismay, there was no answer.
Maybe she's sleeping. He thought.
So, he knocked louder. Still no answer.
C'mon
He knocked and knocked until he decided to try opening the door.
He lowered his hand to the doorknob and with much luck, the door opened. He gasped. His breathing slowing almost to a halt. He pushed the door open only to be faced with an empty room full of false hopes. He sighed as he started to roam the quiet space. Tears started to form in his eyes.
I should've talked to her
He walked around for almost an hour before he came to the last place he thought of going. Her room.
He opened the door and walked in. Breathing in the stale air. He looked around himself. Still the same old room but now, sadly empty. Holes where nails were used to hold up pictures and posters. Drawers that should be full of clothes but are now filled with air.
He turned and stared at her bed. The bed that he and asia used to lay on and watch movies and eat. Where they would just lay and talk for hours on end. Where they were friends. Close.
He sighed and sat on it. Staring down at the floor before him. Trying so hard not to cry his eyes out. That is, until he noticed a paper on the nightstand beside him. He picked it up and looked at it with much surprise. It was another one. A letter from Asia.
Dear Mark,
I know you may not be talking to me and I know that the chances of you coming to say goodbye are one in a million but I wrote this just Incase.
I want you to know that the times we had spent together were the most amazing things to ever happen to me. And that the ones we didn't were still just as good. I am thankful for existing in your world for the short time that I did.
We both knew this day was coming. I wasn't meant to stay here forever. I have a family that I have to go back to and priorities that I have to focus on with said family.
So, I want to say goodbye and that I will always keep you and our memories in the back of my mind.
With much love,
-Asia
Mark now had tears running down his sad little face. He was sad and upset. He was angry at himself for treating her the way he did. He wanted to tell her just two simple words that were glued to the back of his throat and were itching to come out.
"I'm sorry."

I don't know how to feel about this and I don't know whether to scream or cry.
