I'm running, trying to catch my breath. Stopping every so often checking behind me.
"LILY" I hear a voice scream from behind.
I run into a dark alley, as tears stream down my face. 'What have I done to deserve this?' I ask myself, wiping my tears away with my sleeve.
"Lily, I just want to talk" an aggressive voice pleaded.
I backed away slowly as the figure came closer, I shot my hands in front of my face as he raised his fist to me. "What the fuck are you playing at, running from me like that?" He swung his fist.
----------------
I sprung up from my bed, gasping for air, taking deep breaths as I wiped the sweat trailing down my head. I turned to see my younger sister slowly sitting up in her bed, scratching at her eyes.
"Are you okay" she asked. I nodded my head implying that I was, she smiled and slumped her head down on her pillow. I looked at the alarm clock as I swung my legs over the side of my bed, running my fingers through my hair to move it out of my face. It was 5:47am, I dropped my head back down, tucking my legs back under the covers as I let the tiredness take over my body once again.
----------------
"Wake up Lily" a voice barked as my blankets were tugged off of me. "Ughhh Chloe" I groaned, not wanting to get out of bed. "Get up, Dad's going to be here soon" she snapped. "I'm up, I'm up" I moaned Me and my sisters were being sent to stay with my dad and older brother over summer break. I was looking forward to it really, getting away from this smug city, also known as New York. Yeah, you may think it's great, but not with the reputation I have.
It was hard walking the streets known as the 'slutty drug addict' and I guess you could say it's true, well was true. I'm changing, slowly, I mean I don't do drugs anymore. It was because of that asshole 'Mike' my ex. He got me that bad girl reputation, he broke me. But I guess I'm partly to blame, I should have never done it in the first place, I shouldn't have followed the crowd, but it felt good at the time, I loved Mike, he knew how to make a girl feel good. But I'm glad I'll never have to deal with his sorry ass again. Before I met Mike I was known to sleep around, I was cheap and nasty. I guess I still kinda am, I mean of course a part of me is wary of how boys are, it's hard for me to trust anyone, but it doesn't stop me from having a good time, it helps me to relax and forget about everything sort of like a pain relief?
Me and my sister got a long, well most of the time. You know, she's one of those typical 16 year old teenagers. Thinks she knows it all. But I'm not one to talk, I was doing worse things at her age, going out, partying, getting drunk and then fucking some random dude. Whilst she's the opposite, smart, sophisticated and her standards are pretty high.
I'm glad to be getting away this summer, hopefully it will give me the chance to make some new 'better' friends. And build up a nicer reputation.
------------------
I dragged myself out of my bed, making my way to the bathroom. I stripped myself down, turning on the shower and stepped in. Standing there as the refreshing water hit my body. I jumped out wrapping a towel around myself, and went back to my bedroom. All my things were already packed all I needed to do was get ready. I tied my long brown hair into a high pony tail, then applied some mascara and eyeliner. I slipped on a baggy top, and a pair of shorts adding a long necklace to finish the look. I pulled on some black converse, as I grabbed my phone slipping it into my pocket. I picked up all my bags and made my way down stairs, dropping my bags in the hallway I quickly ran to the kitchen to get a drink as I heard my dad beep the car horn.
"Bye Mom" I yelled as I grabbed my bags once again. I made my way outside with my two younger sisters, Chloe and Hannah. Hannah was the youngest of us all, I tried to be the 'role model' of this family, but it was hard.
"DADDY" Hannah screeched as she ran towards him, being lifted then spun into a tight hug. I smiled as I turned back to mom "Bye" I said bluntly as she took me in her arms, "Bye, see you soon" she smiled back, I forced myself out of her touch. I walked over to my dads car, throwing my bags into the boot. "Hi dad, I missed you" I whimpered, wrapping my arms around his torso. "I missed you too" he replied, taking his arms from around me and ushering me into the car.
I rarely see my dad now. After the divorce. Mom was having an affair. I will never forgive her for what she put our family through. I guess the whole divorce was also partly to blame for me acting the way I did, and still do.
-------------------
We had a long journey ahead of us. I put my headphones in and zoned out, whilst Hannah played eye spy with Dad and Chloe. I rested my arm on the side of the car, staring out of the window at all the different sights before me. My eyes grew heavy and I fell asleep.
-------------------
"LILY, LILLLLYYY WE'RE HERE" an excited voice blurted out. I shook my head, wiping my eyes, awakening from my sleep. I looked out of the window as we pulled up to a huge house. Taking off my seatbelt, opening the door I stepped out of the car and admired the house "Wow" I breathed as my dad undone Hannah's belt and joined me at the front of the house. "It's so big!" Hannah roared running up the steps to the front door. I smiled as I went to get my bags from the boot. "I got it" Dad smiled, sliding a bag under his arm. "Thanks" I returned the smile and made my way up to the front door. Entering the house, my mouth dropped. "This is beautiful" I brought out. "It is, much better than that crap I was living in before" my dad replied.
For a man living on his own my dad is doing pretty well for himself, I thought as my dad lead us upstairs taking us to our new rooms for the next 7 weeks. I sat on the king sized bed and looked around the room observing each bit of detail. It was perfect. I began to pack my things into the closet as I found myself looking out of the window at the golden sand that glistened in the sunlight. "Hey sis" I heard a faint voice say. I turned around to see my brother Dale standing in the doorway smiling. I ran over and hugged him "Woah I see you missed me" he chuckled. "Well yeah of course I did, you're my brother!" I exclaimed.
Me and Dale were pretty close, but after the divorce he moved away with dad and I never saw him. "Hey so um, tonight me and a few friends are going down to the beach to watch the fireworks, do you wanna come?" He asked. "Yeah sure" I replied, this will give me a chance to explore LA and maybe meet some new people I thought to myself.
So obviously Justin hasn't been introduced yet, but that's because I don't want to rush the story and make it unrealistic and boring. This chapter was basically an introduction of the characters and the story so far. I hope you enjoyed reading, sorry it was such a drag, but please feel free to leave a comment and tell me what you think. Don't worry, it will get better!
