It was another Sunday morning. The sun was shining bright and I was walking to the car. I had just been shopping groceries and decorations for tonight's celebration. We were all celebrating that the new album went platinum! It was going to be me, the boys and a couple of friends. I was really excited, mostly because Bill would be there. I've had a crush on him for almost 4 years. I know right? It's crazy. I mean, is it even possible to like someone for that long, when they just see you as a good friend? I liked him but I didn't know how he felt about me. Did he feel the same? I can't describe my feelings for him. All I know is that I think about him everyday, I want the best for him. And no matter what, I want him to be happy, even if it's not with me. I wanna know what goes through his mind, how his day was. I don't know, maybe I'm just crazy. During all these years, I haven't had the courage to tell him , fearing that it will bring our friendship to ruins and I'd rather keep my feelings to myself than to risk losing someone who is important to me.
I started my car and drove to this little place that the boys rented in the woods near a lake. The reason? An awesome party, of course. No paparazzis, just sweet, sweet privacy for once. When I arrived, Tom walked walked out of the house. He was wearing torn jeans and a black tank top. Not to mention his cap that he always was wearing, typical Tom!
''You bought everything?'' he said and looked in the bags.
''Yeah, everything. Well at least everything that was on that piece of paper that you gave me.''
''Great! Come in.''
I followed Tom into the kitchen. The kitchen was really beautiful, big and very stylish. I was blown away.
''Isn't it great?'' he opened the fridge and showed it with a gesture, fooling around like always.
''It's- It's amazing, just wow!'' I looked around, amazed by the size of the kitchen. "A dreamplace for cooking" I said and put the bag on the countertop. It was made of white marble, just like the rest of the kitchen.
''Yeah but you won't cook anyway so.''
''She can at least make a sandwich without it tasting like crap'' My heart pumped faster, it was Bill. He was breath-taking as always, even if he just woke up. His hair was messy and his voice a bit raspy, I melted. Okay...okay...Rubi, stop it. Don't embarrass yourself now!
''Seriously? That was one time, plus I was experimenting!'' Tom punched playfully on Bill's arm.
''Anyway...How are you Rubi?'' Bill said and greeted me with a hug.
''I'm good, just came from the store'' I said and lifted up the shopping-bags to show him.
''Great, nice weather huh?'' Bill walked to the living room and then opened the door to the balcony.
''A perfect weather for the celebration!'' I said and began taking out the groceries out of the bag.
''I'm glad that you could join us'' Bill said. I walked out to the balcony where Bill was standing. He took out a cigarette. I couldn't help but to notice his blank eyes. He looked tired, no, more like dead tired.
''For real Bill? Again? Didn't you say that you would quit smoking?''
''I said that I would but I never said when.'' He smiled.
''Then when will you?'' I asked.
Bill was at first quiet until he turned to me and just stood there smoking his cigarette. Taking one blow after another.
''Soon.'' He said and laughed. Ugh, such a teaser.
''Wow, aren't you the life of the party?" I said and laughed sarcastic. "You think that you are so funny, don't you?'' I said and rolled with my eyes.
