Pride clings to the door,

Dressed provocatively in furs,

His wanton cries go unheard.

Childhood slips through the cracks,

Laden in lackluster rags,

Muted laughter rings through the halls.

Wisdom prances gallantly towards the schools,

Clad in armor and other learner's tools,

His screams are heard echoing in the wind.

Deceit festers in the heart,

Wearing faux furs and fool's gold,

Her lies swim slowly through her victim's heads.

Trust dances gayly amongst the bars,

Draped in sheer fabric, so brightly colored,

No one seems to notice her die with the last drink.

Kindness holds open the elevator,

Adorned in simple colors and fabric,

His soft voice soothing the hurried mother.

Pleasure clenches the rails of the bed,

Pieces of bed-sheet draped over naked flesh,

Her satisfied murmurs breathing softly towards her lover.

Hate fills the young girl's soul,

Dressing her in bloody rags and mold,

Slowly taking away her life with each twirl.
