I am a turtle,
mild and sensitive,
tame and slow.
But outside
I wear
armour.
So easy
to hurt me,
I am innocent.
Before, as now,
I never knew how to want,
I never knew how to wish.
I never bore desire,
I never bore
extreme needs.
I'm not tied to love,
I never ever
belong.
I am a turtle,
green like grass,
dirty like mud.
Inside I'm fair,
inside I'm precious,
I'm a jewel.
