The old man watched as the Darkness tricked down like sand to the Midgard.

To any observers on the ground it would seem like a storm or a tornado. No mortal could truly see what forces were really at work. But all the same they would still feel it was a malevolent event.

"My Lord!" Came a muffled voice from outside the door.

The old man sighed and watched from his chair on the balcony overlooking the Realm.

The door bursts open and a man in gleaming silver armor with and obsidian blade ornamented with the finest multicolored jewels stands breathless.

"Do come in," the old man says to no one in particular.

"He is here."

Those three words had all the meaning in the world. The man in the doorway with his half grown red beard looked fearful.

The old man sat very still before rising. He was old but had an air around him. He had a muscular frame and his white robe transformed into golden armor seeming to match his eyes. This was a man to be reckoned with.

"I must sleep,"he began ignoring the man's started interruption.

"What are we to do?" The man all but screamed at him.

The man paused before he went to his bed. "Watch over me."

The man hissed in frustration."I meant about Midgard, Odin."

The old man paused. "Do not worry for Midgard,Fandral. I've already gave them the best weapon we have."

Not to be easily convinced Fandral pressed the matter. "And that weapon happens to be?"

"Has thou no trust in Thy king?" Odin asks.

Fandral knows that he should stop with his out of character questions but the matter was too important to simply trust on.

"What weapons has thou given them Odin.?"

Odin stares at Fandral pondering if he should answer or not. "For sixteen years on the morrow we have been missing someone. Tomorrow he will have been found. His trial will prove that he is worthy to come back to the ranks of Asgard."

Odin lays back on the bed not even covering with the soft silky sheets. He closed his eye and leaves his eyepatch on.
The eye patch is golden like everything else in Asgard.
"I gave them Thor Odinson." He says," I gave them my son."
And with that being said he drifts off into the Odin Sleep leaving Fandral still staring shocked.

A man in Bronze armor comes into the room. He had fair brown hair and bronze colored eyes. He looked like a small replica of Odin in a way.

"What do we do Baldur?"

Fandral's question hung in the air.

"I'm going to go get my brother." Baldur said as if there were no other choice.

"Let me come," Fandral started but Baldur was shaking his head before the words were even out of his mouth.

"No, I need you to stay here. With Odin in sleep we can only make the trip once until he wakes up."
Fandral agreed though it was clearly against his will.

Just then a guard in green and bronze armor ran up to them.

"He left my lord. He left. "

"Who?" Baldur has a tone as if he already knew who had left and he said it at the same time.

"Loki."

"When did he leave?"

"As of a minute ago lord. He said he was going to find his brother. My lord, shouldn't you look happy he went to go find Thor to bring him back and help him."
Both Baldur and Fandral stares at the guard as if he were the most foolish person in all of the Realm.

Seeing their faces the guard stops his smile where it started but still had a gleam in his eye as if it were indeed joyous news he had been told. "What is it?"

"Since when have you heard of Loki being kind to Thor? Or to anyone for that matter?Unless there is something he wants then he will not go there to help"
Baldur spit the word like a curse.

He sighs.

"Gather your things Fandral we are leaving." He starts walking away leaving Fandral staring after him.

"To where?" He asks.

"To save our brother from Loki and imminent Darkness."

"And if we fail."

"Then I guess we'll be gods no longer." Came his whispered reply.

And if the room hadn't been cold before it seemed to take on an even colder chill.

A candle went out by the pillar by Odin's bed.

Fandral rushes out of the room."Baldur wait for me in coming."
