I wish they would just stop. They're not helping the fact that I dislike Christmas. If they could change the past then maybe I would still like it. I guess I just have to put up with it for a couple more days. I thought to myself as I was moving furniture. What feels like hours I hear a knock at the door. I sigh and open the door. Standing there was Aaron dressed like Santa.

" 🎶 On the first day of Christmas Aaron was forced to dress up like Santa and go to Ash's house!" He sang awkwardly smiling. I slowly clap.

"Good try. It still isn't gonna change my view on Christmas." I shut the door, walking away just as he opens it and walks in.

"Oh come on Ash! It's not as fun anymore without you. You used to love Christmas! Now you're just 'Bah humbugging' all over it." He looks around confused. "Why did you decorate for Christmas if you don't like it..?" I turn around.

"Because I want to..." My expression changed from partially happy to sad. I quickly turn my back to Aaron. "Because I wanted to okay!" Aaron realizes thats something is wrong and he quickly turns me around and pulls me into a hug. I quickly push him off, tears streaming down my cheeks.

"I'm fine okay, I'm just fine..." I say in between shaky breaths. Aaron puts his hands on my shoulders.

"Ash you're not okay.. Something's wrong... You're keeping it to yourself... Just let me help you..." He says calmly and softly. I thought he knew... About my parents... Why I can't handle being with others during Christmas... these thoughts ran through my mind. "I know your parents did that... It wasn't right but it shouldn't stop you from enjoying Christmas with your friends..."

"You don't understand.... They didn't start doing this stuff til I was 10... That's why I wouldn't be at school for a week..." The tears started to stream harder down my face, as Aaron hugs me tightly. I squeeze him.

"You're alive... and lucky that I just let myself in that day... Why don't we go get some hot chocolate?" I nod. How is he so calm? They tried to beat me to death... He was the only one who knew and his mom was a nurse, I was like another daughter to her... Maybe I should forget about the past... I thought to myself as we went to get hot chocolate. Sitting there drinking the hot chocolate my hands were trembling. Aaron rubbing my back gently, trying to calm me down.

"I'll walk you home... And if you want me to stay I will." I nod quickly wanting him to stay with me. I feel safe when I'm around him, but why? Why does he make me feel safe? these thoughts just rushed into my mind. He smiles. "Okay I'll stay." We get up and start heading back to my place just as I drop my hot chocolate. I pout and Aaron give me his.

"I was done with mine so here you can have the rest." He says with a big friendly smile on his face.

"Th..Thank you.." I say with a slight stutter. He smiles and chuckles. "You're welcome, and cute stutter by the way." I blush subtly covering my cheeks with my scarf keeping a hole so I can drink my hot chocolate. We get to my place and I sit down on the couch hugging my knees. Aaron turns on the tv and surprisingly Elf was on.

"Oh look Elf! I love this movie!" He smiles before sitting beside me. He changed before we left so he was just in a sweater and jeans. He's so close to me and we're watching a movie... EW we're not dating!! Why would I date him?! I smile and just watch the movie with him.
