So, today was a pretty up-and-down day for me.

First, I love my math class. Everyone was shushing each other, and my teacher said, "Right now someone is thinking 'it.'"

...

Then a girl actually said it out loud.

Everyone started laughing, and she got off scotch-free.

Quite frankly, that made my day.

However, after school at Spirit Club, we had more members than usual. I'm the oldest member, so usually I keep an eye on things while the teacher in charge works on school things.

We have a list of songs on the board to play that anyone can add to, but some of the new members erased songs and put theirs in, or even critiqued other people's song choices.

It's things like that, that make me wish I weren't here. Please, think before you act. Even if someone acts like it doesn't hurt them, it might.

You might not really know who you're talking to. Maybe they're struggling with their identity. Maybe they have OCD or ADD or ADHD or dyslexia or some other issue. Maybe they like that particular song because it helped them through a dark time.

Maybe one wrong word will kill them.

Just because someone's different than you doesn't mean that they deserve to be put down.

I'm not a homophobic, racist, bratty stuck-up smart-aleck who's too smart for her own good, just because I'm a few math classes ahead of my grade and grew up in a conservative Christian family.

You're not stupid, or worthless, or unloved.

Somewhere out there, someone is hoping you'll make it.

Even if it's just me, with my vague little wish.

Just keep going.

Maybe while you're at it, you should help someone up.
