I watched Jo from where I was in the doorway. He was looking at the tree that mom and dad had got yesterday, we couldn't decorate it until tonight as it needed to dry.

Jo leaned his hand out that wasn't broken and touched the tree before pulling his hand back with a small mutter of pain, "that's why you don't touch it," I laughed.

He turned around and looked at me before sighing, "it bloody stung!"

"Language," I scolded lightly, "where did you even learn that word? You're 11."

He looked away slightly as his cheeks flushed, "no one. I'm going to okay xbox," he said quickly before running out of the living room.

I ran a hand through my hair before turning and walking into the kitchen where my dad was sat at the table. He seemed a little better I guess but he wasn't the same as when we had first came here.

"Morning Lexi," my dad said with a worn out smile.

"Morning," I mumbled and picked up an apple before taking a bite from it.

My mom handed my dad a cup of orange juice before glancing at me, "have you got your results yet?"

"I forgot about them," I admitted, "I'm going to class today and I'll find out then."

"You sure that's a bright idea?" mom asked with some slight concern.

I nodded my head, "yeah. Oh and tomorrow there's the school dance I'm going," I said and began speaking again when my mom was going to say something, "since we are leaving. This would be pretty cool."

My parents looked at each other before my dad looked at me, "about leaving you and Jo aren't going. You are going to stay here with me until we can go back together. Your mother is going first as she has already got her job back there."

I looked at them with confusion, "mom why don't you stay here until we can all go together then?"

She looked away while my dad looked down at his food that was untouched, "it's already planned, Alexis. Aren't you late for class?" she asked and went back into the cooking area.

I rolled my eyes before throwing away the half eaten apple into the bin, "bye," I mumbled then headed into the hallway and slipped on my coat. I grabbed my car keys from the pot and lifted my bag onto my shoulder then left the house. I walked down the porch and looked up seeing grey clouds before drops of rain started to fall so I walked quicker towards my car that I haven't driven in ages. I unlocked my car then quickly got inside and started it up hearing it roar to life.

My heart hammered in my chest as I gripped the steering wheel. I can't be afraid of cars for the rest of my life. Come on Lexi.

I turned on the radio to distract me from the car accident thoughts and then began to slowly drive down the road feeling my hands begin to get sweaty. I blinked to clear my vision and felt my breaths become quicker until I focused on the music that was filling the car. I jumped slightly when someone honked their horn before driving around me.

I shook my head slightly and pulled over onto the side of the road and leaned against the steering wheel while controlling my breathing. I got my phone out my pocket until I reached a contact and then pressed call. I lifted my phone up to my ear and waited for then to pick up.

"Hello?" his voice asked.

"Can you give me a lift?" I mumbled quietly.

There was silence on the other line before he replied, "okay. I'll see you in five minutes."

"Thank you," I muttered quietly before ending the call then I started the car up and carefully turned around then drove down pass a few houses until I reached mine once again. I got out my car quickly and stood on the pavement waiting for him to turn up while I carelessly tapped my foot against the ground as the rain fell down, at least it wasn't chucking it down.

His car pulled up on the side a few minutes later. I walked over and got into the passenger seat before giving a small sigh, "thanks for this," I mumbled as I pulled my seat belt on.

I glanced over at Nathan and he nodded his head before smiling, "its fine. So why did you not want to drive on your own?" he asked with a slight frown as he started off down the road again.

I held my breath and waited for the nerves to kick in but they didn't, they always did when I was driving with my mom or when I was with Max and Brooke and on my own. With Nathan... they were gone. Funny how I was in the accident with him but in a car with him I feel perfectly safe.

"I erm," I mumbled as my face heated up, "I was a bit scared." I admitted.

Nathan tensed up, "I'm sorry."

"It's fine," I said carelessly, "so are you still going to the dance tomorrow?"

Nathan glanced at me before looking back at the road as he relaxed once again, "yeah. Pick you up at 7?"

I nodded my head feeling a small smile appear on my face, "are you going to the work party?" I asked slowly knowing that he didn't exactly like Paul.

"I can be talked into going if a certain girl will be there," he teased with a wink.

I laughed slightly, "well I'm going to be there so that should be enough for you." I joked before realizing what I was doing. Was it too soon to be joking with him after everything that has happened? I feel safe with him, but that doesn't mean I should get back with him so quickly.

"You looking forward to Christmas?" he asked and tapped his fingers against the steering wheel as we stopped at a red light.

"Of course, you?" I replied.

"Are you kidding? Who doesn't like Christmas?" he asked as a grin appeared on his face.

I laughed at his excited face before we pulled up outside the campus. I got out and lifted my bag onto my shoulder careful of my new stitches, my brother had told my mom so she took me to the hospital where I got new stitches luckily it was healing quite well.

Nathan walked over to my side, "drink stand?" he suggested.

I gave a nod as a response before he took my hand and intertwined our fingers as we made our way to the drink stand. I looked down at our hands before feeling my face flush but I couldn't bring it in me to pull away especially since he was smiling a real smile.

"Two hot chocolates," Nathan said to the man behind the counter them looked towards me, "you aren't going to try and pay for it are you?" He teased.

I shook my head feeling myself slowly come back to normal, even after everything he still made me feel like myself, and he seemed like he was changing. From the bad guy to the good one.

"You would never let me," I retorted feeling myself smile when he winked at me.

"Of course baby," he replied took his hand out of mind to pay for our drinks before handing one to me. I took a sip of my drink then he laced his hand with mine while in his other hand was his drink.

"Have you got your results yet?" I asked Nathan as we made our way towards history.

Nathan shook his head, "we're get them today."

I nodded my head and took another sip of my drink before thinking of the dreaded question I wanted to ask. I looked down at my shoes as the rain came down harder, "Nathan can I ask you something?"

"What's wrong?" his voice changing completely.

"What happened with Austin?" I asked and looked up expecting him to be angry but instead he looked at me with a frown.

"He... Tom stopped me before anything couldn't actually happened. Then Austin got away. No one has seen him," Nathan replied as he we entered the building.

"What about the others? What do they think?" I asked and took another sip of my drink.

"Ally doesn't give a shit, but that's Ally for you. Brooke she's coping, Sophie is like Ally she doesn't care and Hayley doesn't want to get involved, she never liked the drama in our group. The guys well they already hated him, Ben doesn't really know what to think. He hates him for what he nearly did to Brooke and what he did do to you-" I cut Nathan off.

"Wait they know?" I questioned, "about me?"

Nathan nodded his head slowly, "they needed to know what a dirt bag he is Lexi."

I pulled my hand out of his, "that wasn't your thing to share," I said feeling my annoyance growing.

"It's to protect you Lexi! Don't you understand that, I do everything to protect you." He snapped while gaining the attention of other students.

I rolled my eyes, "so agreeing to Austin's little game was to protect me was it?" I retorted harshly.

Nathan glared at me, "how many times do I have to apologize before you listen to me? I'm sorry Lexi! I love you!"

I scoffed, "they are just words Nathan. Anyone can say them."

He carried on with his harsh glare before storming up to me, "fine then," he muttered and took my drink off me before throwing both his and mine into the bin beside us then took my hand in his hard grip and pulled me along behind him.

"What are you doing?" I asked confused my anger I had for him quickly disappearing.

Nathan said nothing and tried opening one door but it was locked, he moved onto another door and opened it before walking in and then pulled me in behind me. He flipped on the light switch and I realized that we were in a store room.

I frowned at Nathan before he gripped my waist and then pulled me towards him and pressed his lips against mine. His lips felt soft against mine and I soon returned the kiss feeling my bag drop to the floor as I wrapped my arms around his neck. He moved one hand up my side until it reached the hem of my jacket, he lifted his hand up slightly causing a shiver as his hands touched my bare stomach. His lip ring was digging into my lips while his touch made it seem like everything was on fire. He gently trailed his fingers around my stomach until they reached my stitches, I gasped and pulled away from Nathan feeling my face heat up in embarrassment.

Nathan looked at me in confusion and took a small step forward, "don't," I mumbled and shook my head.

I turned my back to him feeling tears sting the backs of my eyes. I was embarrassed about the stitches, it wasn't a nice sight. I angrily wiped away a stray tear.

"Look at me," Nathan said quietly.

I ignored him and closed my eyes while taking deep breaths, "Alexis," he repeated and gently placed a hand on my arm before turning me around. I opened my eyes but kept them on the floor where my shoes suddenly became very interesting.

He placed his hand under my chin and lifted it up to look at him before he let go and moved my hands from where they were covering my stomach. He kept his eyes locked on mine as he unzipped my jacket, "Nathan," I started but he just shook his head not saying anything. He kept his eyes staying on mine as he gently lifted the hem of my t-shirt up.

"You are beautiful." He said softly before looking down at my stomach. I felt everything in me want to run and crawl into a ball instead I just squeezed my eyes shut. He gently traced my stomach causing a shiver before I felt his lips on my forehead.

"I love you," he murmured and kissed my lips softly. I returned the kiss just as he pulled away so I opened my eyes as my t-shirt fell down again, "don't ever doubt my love for you. Ever again."

I just nodded my head in response before doing my jacket up, "Nathan," I said as he went to go.
