Hello Everyone, my name is Diamond. This is my first book I've ever written on here, so It might not be that great, but I hope you enjoy it. Thanks for taking the chance to read it!
"Happy Mother's Day mom!, I love you " I say cheesing really hard.
I was so happy to finally be able to see my mother after my first semester of college. My name is Carson Emmerson. I'm a freshman attending Yale, and I have to admit; It's kinda fun besides the fact that I have to pay $500 student loans every month and I have a major problem with procrastination. Yale is where I met my best friend Shay. She's my roommate who is also a complete pain in the ass, but I still love her. She taught me to live a little more and learn to have fun instead of keeping my head in books all the time.
"Aww, Thank you sweetheart. I love you more" my mom replies. "I've really missed you being around the house. I know I talk to you on the phone everyday, but it's not the same as seeing you face to face, you know?" I miss fussing at you telling you to clean your room or wash the dishes. You've grown up so much. I feel like it was just yesterday when you were three playing with your toys and watch Dora. Oh and remember the time you shi-"
"Okay mom, enough" I scowl "I don't need to be reminded " I say laughing
Then she starts crying. Why does she have to do emotional all the time? I was only gone for three months. I don't know how she's gonna get through a year without me.
"Oh no, mom please don't cry, then I'll start crying." But it was too late. The tears where already pouring out of my eyes like a storm. I go to hug her. "thanks a lot mom, now my make up is ruined. I only spent about an hour on it." I say sarcastically, tears still falling
"I'm sorry" she chuckles and lets me go. " I've been feeling really alone lately now that you've moved on with your life, you father is gone, and your sister hates me-"
"Mom she doesn't hate you. She's just stubborn and we both know that. One day she'll figure out that it wasn't your fault okay? She knows that, she just doesn't wanna except it." I say cutting her off
"You're right. I need to take my mind off of work and everything. Let's go watch a movie. You make the popcorn and I'll set up Netflix so we can choose what to watch. Just like old times." she says to me smiling
I nod my head in agreement. "You know mom?...I think it's time you moved on and met someone. You seem so sad and depressed all the time. I don't like seeing you like that. I don't want you to be alone."
"But I have you hon." She pleads
"Mom it hasn't even been four months and your already crying like there's no tomorrow. And it's been almost 3 years since dad left us." I groan "it's time for you to move on."
"You're right, you're right. I'll find someone." She says smiling "but as of right now I just wanna spend time with my precious baby"
"Good." I say smiling "I just want you to be happy again."
We both agreed on watching the movie "Hush". We usually watch scarier movies, but with my mom living alone, and me living in a dorm that I know nothing about; not to mention that my roommate is a scaredy cat, we decided it would be best just to stick with suspense."That movie was good!" My mom shouts "let's watch another one!"
"Whoa mom, calm down" I say "I actually wanted to go out to eat somewhere since I only have one day left with you. And maybe tomorrow we can have a girls day out, go shopping, and get manis and pedis."
