Alone, Tyler sat at the lunch table after school. He wasn't physically alone, but it didn't matter. The one he wanted wasn't with him. As the voices of his nerd friends dimmed, he found himself fixing his gaze on the one he desired: Dylan Baylor.

He was sitting at the table diagonal from him, but it felt so much farther than that. Tyler felt like there was an invisible wall between them, always keeping them apart. It wasn't that Dylan was mean or elitist or anything, but Tyler often let his self consciousness get the better of him, and it made him too afraid to interact with the object of his affections.

As he was lost in his thoughts, he didn't realize that he had been staring for some time now. Josh broke his trance. "Hey dude, are you ok?" Tyler found himself without an answer for a few seconds before he managed to release an answer. "Uh-ye-yeah, of course. Wanna keep playing Pokémon?"

As he played games with his friend, he became unfocused yet again. A sudden move from Dylan erected a move from him. Dylan was coming towards him. Tyler was not mentally prepared for this to happen. As he passed by, Tyler couldn't help but whip his head back to look at him. Realizing he was staring, and rather obviously, he turned back swiftly, ears burning.

About five minutes after that rather embarrassing moment, something else happened. Tyler couldn't believe it. Dylan Baylor just approached him. "Hey, did you hear me Tyler?" Dylan said as Tyler again was forced to snap back to reality (op, there goes gravity).

"Could you come out of the lunch room real quick? There's something I have to talk to you about." Tyler's head was swimming. What's going on here? Is he...gonna say that he likes me back? Or...did he see me staring at him?

As he followed behind Dylan and out the lunch room doors, he still couldn't understand how this was happening. Tyler thought that Dylan would start talking right away, but unlike his normally bubbly personality, he stayed strangely quiet. Awkward, awkward, awkward!!!

Tyler couldn't stop the word from repeating in his head, as 10, 15 seconds went by of this growing silence. Finally, the tall skinny boy opened his mouth to speak. "So...I saw you looking at me earlier.."

Shitshitshit Tyler thought to himself. They stopped walking, nearly in front of the bathroom. Dylan was faced away, but Tyler was sure it was one of disgust. Does he hate me now? A chill ran down Tyler's spine before he swallowed dryly and began to speak.

"I...I'm really sorry. I'm so sorry if I bothered you..I just-" Tyler began, but he was quickly cut off by Dylan pushing him into the bathroom. He was abruptly slammed into the wall, pinned. Fuck, I didn't think he'd be this pissed off! Tyler's mind raced as he was prepared to fight back, even if it was against his crush.

But one look into Dylan's eyes stopped him in his tracks. "Who said I didn't like you staring?" And with that, Dylan's lips pressed into Tyler's. Tyler let out a squeak, turning beet red. It was clear Dylan meant for it to be a deep kiss, but he couldn't help but break away and laugh. "Wh-what's so funny?" Tyler managed to stutter. "Nothin, except you're hella cute right now, as he leaned in for another, more serious kiss.

This time, he put his hand on the wall next to Tyler, trapping him between the wall and Dylan. Tyler closed his eyes and expected Dylan to force his tongue in, but he surprisingly did not. Tyler scrunched his eyes open a bit, and when he made eye contact with Dylan, he realized that Dylan was waiting for his permission.

Slowly, shivering slightly, he opened his mouth. After they had run out of oxygen, they broke apart. Tyler was so embarrassed that he didn't know what to do, he just stood there with his hand over his mouth, dumbfounded.

"So...does that mean..you like me?" Dylan scoffed at the idiotic question, but answered anyway. "Yes...Tyler Hilliard...would you..go out with me?" This was the first time Tyler ever saw Dylan so...flustered. "S-sure, I guess.." Tyler hid his face again.

"Then maybe I should congratulate myself by snagging another kiss~" Dylan said while coming over and holding Tyler's face. "What? N-no cmon we're in the bathr-" "well you didn't seem to have a problem with it before, in fact, I'm pretty sure you liked it~" Just as Dylan was leaning in, a janitor entered the bathroom.

The small hispanic woman inhaled sharply, wide eyed, and started yelling at them. They ran out as fast as they could, part out of embarrassment, part scared of the tiny lady. As they were far away from the bathroom now, they slowed down to stop and catch their breath.

Tyler still didn't know what the hell was happening, and whatever rickety train of thoughts that he had then was crashed by Dylan bursting out laughing. "Ahaha! Oh my god, the look on her face was priceless!" Tyler couldn't help but join in, giggling at first, eventually leading to a heart filled laugh. As the laughter died down, Dylan stuck one hand out to Tyler, the other hand wiping tears from his eyes.

"Wanna go back to the cafeteria?" Tyler took his hand and smiled warmly. "Yeah, lets go back." "Oh yeah" Dylan said as if he had just remembered something "do you know what I saw in your eyes when you stared at me?" "That again...?" Tyler said, the blush creeping back. "I saw lust".
