Some people say, that they are born the way that they are destined to be.

Some people say, that it's a resort of how you are raised.

The problem with that is, I had the best, most normal parents anyone could have.

Growing up, I was a happy kid. We were really the picture perfect, all American family.

I was five, when I knew I wasn't like my family. But it was at my uncle's wedding, that I had the first sinking feeling, that I wouldn't grow up to be like them.

Sometimes, I wonder, that if I had just ignored how that flower boy made me feel, I could've turned out, just like them... normal.

One day, when I was eight, a friend that I had, Emily, came over to mine and my brother's house, with her brother David.

We all dropped our bikes, and scooters, sitting in a square, the four of us looking at each other with full curiosity.

"What do you want to play now?" I asked, looking around.

The two boys didn't answer, but Emily did.

"I don't know... wanna play house? How about, Ashley and I be the mommies, and David, and Ashton, you two will be the kids, and have to do what ever we say."

David's face began to scrunch up. We could all tell that he didn't like the idea of being bossed around, so he stood his ground.

"That's not fair." He whines.

"Well, that's what mommies do," Emily calmly says, knowing that her being calm will annoy David a little more.

He opens his mouth the speak again, but Ashton cuts him off.

"Hey, what if me and David are the daddies, and you guys have to do what ever we say?"

"Yeah!" David agrees.

"No way," Emily chuckles.

"I got an idea!" I say proudly, as everyone turns theirs head towards me, and looks at me, as if they have been waiting for ages, jut waiting for me to say something.

"How about David and I play mommy and daddy!" I smile, thinking that saying that was normal. That there was no harm.

But no one else thought so. Everyone froze. They all looked at me, and then at each other.

Emily finally speaks up... "That's really weird."

At that moment, I knew that I messed up. I knew that saying what I said, was totally wrong.

I frown, but try to play it off, as if it was just a normal thing for kids to say.

"No! It'll be fun!" I say, trying to cheer everyone back up.

Emily rolls her eyes, and looks at me in disgust.

"That really disgusting. What are you? Some kind of breeder?"

I look at her. I look at her with the most angry eyes, and she knows it. She knows it, because she slightly smirks.

"No, I'm not." Am I? Did I really mean for that to come out of my mouth?

Emily scoffs, not believing me. "Are too,"

"Am not!"

"Are too." She says, firmly, making sure that I don't answer. "Come on, David. We don't play with heteros." Then she looks back at me. "I'm telling everyone, that your a disgusting breeder!"

I tried, really hard, just to be normal after that...
