Miles Away

After having Josh home for four months, it was finally time for him to go back on tour. It was hard on the both of us because he won't be able to find out the sex of the baby and he might be on the road still for the birth. He was going to be gone for a month in Europe, two in Asia, three weeks in Australia, a month in Canada, and a week in South America for Lolapalooza in Brazil.

It effected him the most because one: it was his first kid and two: he wad going to be far away.

"I'm so sorry that I have to go baby. You know if it was up to me, I wouldn't go." He rubbed my side and gave me a sad smile.

"I know, I know. It's just gonna be really hard with you being gone now that we are gonna have a baby. If it was just you and I, everything would be slightly better." I hugged him and he hugged me back, being careful with my belly that was already starting to show signs that a new life was forming.

"I'm gonna miss you so much, this never gets easier." Josh rested his chin on mine, rubbinf circles on my back.

"We're gonna be fine, we always are." I wrapped my arms around his neck and lightly stroked behind his ear and slowly making my way to his jawline.

"I love it when you do that; it's so relaxing." He closed his eyes and breathed in deeply. "It's also a turn on." He whispered the last part and I blushed a little, rolling my eyes at him.

"Whatever." I let out a breathy chuckle and looked up at him in the eyes.

"C'mere." Josh got a hold of my neck and pressed his lips agaisnt mine firmly. The kiss was enough to make me see stars and get dizzy; falling in love with him all over again.

Josh was the first to pull away; everything I have ever known being extractes as he pulled his lips away from me.

The dreaded intercom voice sounded from the speakers, announcing the departure of Josh's flight.

"I love you, babygirl. So, so much. And you little boy or little lady, be good to mommy. Okay? Daddy is going to miss you so much, but I'll be back before you know it." Kneeling down, Josh kissed my tummy and and got back up to give me one more kiss.

"I love you, Josh, more than you'll ever know. Please call me when you find out the sex." He smiled and grabbed his suitcase, walking away from me.

I waved goodbye until the sea of people drowned him, becoming one with the masses. Once I no longer could see him, I turned around and made my way to my car with a heavy heart.

The day that we found out what the gender of the baby was finally here. Emmy and I were so excited, it was the only thing we talked about on the way to the doctor's and in the office.

"Mrs. Dun?" The nurse in Disney scrubs called. We got up together and as we did, we got weird looks. I knew what they were thinking, but we didn't pay much attention.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know..." The nurse trailed off until I cut her off.

"Don't worry, she's my best friend. My husband is just on a... Business trip." The nurse nodded and led us to a blue room.

"The doctor will be in momentarily." We nodded and we gushed about the mystery of what the gender could be.

"Hold on, I'm gonna call Josh." Emmy nodded and got on her own phone. I knew it was late in London, but Josh knew what today held for us so he might still be up.

Deciding to FaceTime him, Josh picked up right away.

"Hey baby, how are you?" The room was dark, but his face was illuminated by the phone screen.

"Hey, I'm here at the doctor's office." I showed the room and when I landed on Emmy, she waved.

"I'm not interrupting, am I?" Asked Dr. Keene as she walked inside the room.

"No, not at all. We were just waiting for you." She nodded and walked towards the machine.

"You ready babe?" Josh asked excitedly, his eyes barely visible from how much he was smiling.

"Ready than I'll ever be." I lifted my shirt up and the doctor squeezed some of the gel onto my tummy.

"Okay, so first of all: your pregnancy is going smoothly. The baby is developing the way it should be, so there's nothing you guys should be worried about. Now, the moment you guys were waiting for..." Josh did a drum roll, a huge smile etching on his face.

"You guys are having a... BOY!!!"

"A litte Dun Jr!!! Babe!! WE ARE HAVING A BOY. THIS IS THE BEST NEWS."

"I know, I'm so excited!" The smile in my face felt like it would be permanent. Just knowing what we are going to have made everything seemed more real.

"That's all for today. If you have any questions about anything, don't hesitate to call me." She smiled and turned off the maching. She gave me a wipey and I cleaned my swollen tummy from the blue gel.

"Thank you." I shook her hand and talked to Josh as I walked towards the office, giddy at the news.

"Okay baby, it's really late here and we have a show tomorrow night. I love you so much, remember to call me if you need anything, okay?"

"I love you too, love. Have a good show tomorrow; if you not too tired, let me know how it went."

Josh blowed me a kiss and hung up the call.
