[ O N E ;  M I N G Y U ]

MINGYU has never felt so conflicted in his life before than he is now. He feels upset and disappointed, hopeless and desperate to the point that the emotion that's taken over him is, for the most part, rage. The boy doesn't know what to do with both Soo Jung or himself, and all he thinks he can do at the moment is to let out his anger on the person he knows is behind all this.

Upon his arrival at the clean and overall-white building, Mingyu immediately storms towards the elevator and press the button to the seventeenth floor. He never stopped walking, not even when the receptionist asked him to state his business there or when his ex-coworkers greeted him, as he only had one goal in mind: confronting his former boss.

The blonde barges in the only office located on the floor, earning the attention of the dark-haired male sitting behind his mahogany desk. His gaze moved from the words on the paper he was reading to Mingyu, who is now walking briskly towards him.

"Mingyu! What're you—"

The male is cut short by a slam of a palm against the table, making him jump a little in his seat due to surprise. He blinks twice, stunned and trying to make sense of what is happening, before his eyes flicker to the blonde's face in utter incomprehension.

"What the hell, Mingyu?" He asks, seeming more confused than angry. "What is wrong with you?"

"What did you do?" The other retorts, his eyes narrowed at the older male sitting in front of him. Confused, his former boss stays silent, trying to think about just what on earth the boy is talking about. "I said, what did you do, Seungcheol-hyung?"

"I don't know!" Seungcheol replies, throwing his arms in the air. "You suddenly barge into my office, bang on my table and ask me what I'm doing? What the fuck are you doing? Hell, I don't even know what you're talking about!"

"I'm talking about Cr—Soo Jung." Mingyu quickly corrects himself, only remembering that only he calls her by her english name. "What did you do to her? Why doesn't she remember me?"

"Our job is to make people like her happy, Mingyu, not sad and moping all over town. I had to do something."

"So you make her forget about me?!" The younger shouts, banging on the table once more to emphasize his anger. "You know damn well what happened between the two of us and you let it all go to waste by wiping me from her memories? What is wrong with you?!"

"What's wrong with me? What's wrong with you! You broke her heart, Mingyu! You weren't supposed to have that kind of relationship with an AC!" Seungcheol snaps, rising from his reclining chair and slamming his palm against the table as well. He tries standing up straighter in a poor attempt of matching Mingyu's height, but it's still obvious who's the taller one among the two.

"Then what about Wonwoo-hyung?" Mingyu asks, his tone sounding like he is challenging the elder. "Why is he allowed to do... Stuff with his AC?"

Seungcheol narrows his eyes. "What 'stuff'?"

"Stuff like... Ah... I don't know, oggling at each other?"

The elder simply looks at him, his expression tired and unamused and overall just done with the blonde. The latter, on the other hand, knows that he already lost—but he stands his ground anyway.

"Are you being serious right now?"

Sighing, Seungcheol sits back down and massages his temples. He looks up at Mingyu expectantly, waiting for him to give an answer of sorts, but when he doesn't, he decides to speak once more.

"Look, you've already resigned and what's done is done anyway. There's nothing we can do about it. Besides, she's happier this way, isn't she?"

Mingyu's eyes soften, knowing well that what his former boss said is true. He knows that he made a mistake, but a bigger part of him still refuses to accept it. "Does she... Not remember me at all?"

Seungcheol purses his lips, thinking deeply. "I don't know, Mingyu. I suppose so, but who knows? There might still be memories of you left in her brain. Why, are you going to try and make her remember?"

The blonde stays quiet, hoping that the latter will know what his answer is without him having to utter so much as a word. After all, they've been working together for years now—they ought to know each other inside out by now.

After minutes of silently contemplating, Seungcheol finally sighs. "Do us all a favor and don't upset her, alright? Otherwise, we may need to interfere again and you know your efforts would be of no use if that happened."

Mingyu's eyes cast downwards, as if rethinking his decision about all of this. He does want Soo Jung to be happy, of course he does—but seeing her happy without him is simply too painful for the boy. He knows that he can put a smile on her face, and that's one thing he's determined about doing, but if she barely remembers him...

Then how will that work out?

He thinks hard and through, reconsidering his options again and again. Seungcheol simply watches Mingyu as he furrows his eyebrows, bite on his lip and kiss his teeth, the many expressions he's making the elder finds quite amusing.

... But if there's a will, there's a way, isn't there?

Finally, after minutes of silently arguing with himself, the younger sighs, stating his decision.

"Okay."
