Dark , alone , bitter , and silent. The castle has never been this silent. Maybe my mother had everyone removed so I can get a good night of "beauty sleep" for my big day. "Sleep" I silently whisper to my self followed by a short chuckle. Who am I kidding what if he doesn't like me, I mean I already don't like him. I sigh, I need to stop this it's just for political reasoning I lay back relaxing my body. I had started the ascend to the fade, the land of dreams, when all of a sudden there was a slight knock on the door. I jump slightly not knowing what to think, finally I let out a quiet whimper, "come in" the words spilling out of my dry mouth.
The door began to crack open slightly, "hello" I call out with a scared tone."Princess Annelie" another voice calls out from the shadows.
"Jasper" I quietly shout out, jumping from my bed to greet him. He chuckles as I wrap my arms around his neck.
"So, you'll be leaving tommorow for Alabuse" he says in a low friendly voice. I look up into his eyes that show nothing but charm
" yeah." I let out a sigh "my fathers making me, it's for a good cause and it's not like I don't know him at all"
"oh yeah a good cause" jasper counters with a more unfriendly tone
"I'm ending a rivalry between Carvon and Alabuse, one that has grown tiresome and needs an end." I say trying to maintain my friendliness
"oh yeah, and I can't forget the royal ball where he supposedly 'fell in love with you" I look down quickly as I feel my blush burn brightly
"look I don't like it either but I have to get married some day or another and it's not like my parents are gonna let me marry some royal guard" I say mercilessly aiming my words at jasper.
"So, I'm just some worthless guard" he says with a edge in his voice. I sigh
"I didn't mean it like tha-" I'm cut off by the door squeaking Shut. I stand there for a couple moments before making my way back to my bed. Well if it wasn't impossible to sleep before it sure is now.
By some miracle I was able to fall asleep, only to walk up to a nightmare. The day everything I ever new, my father , my mother , my kingdom, and jasper. My mother burst into the room with 4 other women all holding some sort of beauty item. "Mother, don't you think this is all a little to extra." I smile as multiple eyes gaze upon me.
"Well dear it is the day of your marriage and it's not everyday I have to send you off to a different kingdom." There is an odd silence, that was the first time my mom had acknowledged that fact out loud, maybe her mind finally had enough time to process it. I see a tear form in her eye, the twinkle from the morning sun catching my eye.
"Oh mother don't cry, if you cry I'll cry" I say as I rush over to her wrapping my arms around her waist as I softly pet her long dirty blonde hair. She lets out a big exhale as to symbolize a real ease.
"Alright guys let's get my beautiful daughter ready for her big day" I smile as I see my mothers smile form. She had one of those smiles that just grabbed your heart and made you happy. My mother and I were close, when I was born she didn't want a nanny like all the other queens. If it wasn't for that one choice we wouldn't be as close as we are now. I think back of memories I had here while there tugging and blending away. I think back to when I got my first book, I thought that if I read it over and over again I would become smarter. I smile in the mirror to my mom thinking back to when she used to brush my hair every night. I change the subject to keel from crying.
"so mother, where's my dress" I say enthusiastically. She holds up her index finger, gesturing me to wait. I smile as my mother exits the room, brushes softly hitting my face. Jasper passes by the room, he looks at me for a slight second. Then leaves, without saying a word, taking a part of my soul with him. All of a sudden my great mood fades away as reality sets in.
"Stop frowning, it'll give you wrinkles." I fake a smile as I hear my mothers voice. Only to be followed by the real one as my gaze falls onto the gorgeous piece of fabric that was made just for me.
"It's gorgeous!" I say with a great smile, looking it up and down. It had lace that covered up the upper chest and some of the arm, but the rest cover my diamonds and white lace. Until the waste, where it dropped down to scattered diamond around the top and the fluffing out the more further it goes down. A dress clearly made for royalty.
"The true jewel in this dress will be you in a short moment." My mother says smiling down at me as the strokes of all the brushes finally stop. I look in the mirror, they added a big spark to my usual make-up. My cheeks seemed to glow and my eyes sparkled. My Golden hair was curled in such perfect curls, the only thing missing was my tiara. Soon to be replaced by a crown. I shiver at the thought of being queen, a whole kingdom, under my rule. My thoughts were cut short by the cold embrace of my silver tiara being placed perfectly between all of my curls by my mother. I look up at her in the mirror smiling as I see a tear glimmer on your perfect skin.
"Oh mother, don't cry. Your gonna make me start and I don't want to ruin all this hard work." I get up and embrace her in my arms. "It's going to be ok" I pat her back, looking up at a clock seeing what time it is. "Oh mother we have to go." She turns around to view the time.
"Indeed darling." She orders a hand full of guards to escort us to the carriage parked outside for us. We stop at the dressing area in my mothers room and I slip into my dress. The lace sticking to me and the diamond shimmering through the light in the window. With one last smile I push open the door and take my mothers hand as the guards push open the castle doors. I take seat in the carriage followed by my mother. I take one last glance at the castle I had spent my entire life living in, and with a crack of a whip. All that is taken away.
