Chapter One"Amelia! It's time to wake up!" My mother started screaming. I look over to my alarm clock and it's 6:30 AM. My room is simple actually, grey walls with black curtains covering my windows. My bed has a black and white bedspread with multiple pillows. Then, there's my dresser, desk, and book shelf. I have my TV is on my dresser, along with my ps4 and a few cute decorations. My desk contains my macbook, a lamp, notebooks, and pencils. I also keep my drawing stuff there. On my bookshelf there is at at least a hundred books and a couple more cute decorations. Beside my bed there is a coffee mug that holds a few things, a candle, a seashell from my brother, and a picture of my father.
I start with my day off with picking out what to wear. I go with the usual, a plaid skirt with stockings, a plain colored shirt to match the colors of the plaid, and some kind of jacket. In this case it will be a black shirt tucked into a black and red plaid skirt with nude stockings, along with my leather jacket and all black converse. My hair is pulled into a simple half up-half down, and I make sure the part that's down is straight. The makeup on my face is pretty simple too, it being eyeliner, mascara, and foundation.
By the time I finish it is 7:15 and I don't have much time till I leave for school. I grab my notebook, lunch my mom packed, and car keys to head to school. Marlene sends me a text "WHERE ARE YOUUUUU??" I just laugh and start towards her house so she doesn't have a panic attack. Marlene is the type of person who likes to be ahead of time just in case something goes wrong. Although I can't blame her because I freak out when I'm late or something doesn't go as planned. I pull up and as I wait for Marlene to come out, I ran my hand over my thighs thinking about what happened last night. I promised Marlene I would stop, but I couldn't keep this one simple promise and she'll be heartbroken if she finds out. My thoughts are interrupted by Mar knocking on the car window.
"Let me in ya hoe!" Marlene laughed as she yelled. I clicked the unlock button as I tried not to laugh. "Come on! You know you want to laugh!" She throws a bunch of crumbs on me and all over my car as she tries to get me to laugh.
"No, but I will kill you if you don't get these crumbs out of my car!" I joked back, but she looked scared cause I seem serious. "Relax, I'm only joking, but don't you ever throw crumbs all over my car again Marlene Renee Jones." Her head jerked to the side when I said her full name, with a mixture of horror and shock along with humor. Then she started laughing because she realized I was still only joking.
We finally made it to school and it was only 7:22.
"YOU ARE TO SLOW!" Marlene screamed as I started to get out of my car. I just laughed as we started towards the school. Marlene kept walking, but I came to a stop when I saw him. "But girl you have t-" Marlene turned around to look at me and she noticed I was stopped and was looking at the two of them together. Marlene started towards me and I snapped out of it and looked at her. I didn't realize there was tears in my eyes now. "Hey, Amelia. It's okay, let's go." I forced myself to keep walking towards the school.
"Hey! Amelia!" I turned towards the voice and of course it was her. Ever since she ditched Marlene and I during the middle of our freshmen year, we're seniors now, we haven't spoke to her that much since and a lot last year because she started dating Harry last year. "Amelia, Marlene! Wait up!" She screamed again from the other side of the parking lot. We both stopped so Marlene could maybe tell her off.
"What do you want? Uh? Don't you think you've done enough to me, Lacey? I don't wa-"
"Hey Lacey what's going on? I haven't talked to you in soooo long." Marlene started laughing along with Lacey. I know my mouth dropped with a mixture of shock and horror. Harry also walked up to us.
"Mar what up boo." Harry said in a girly voice. Both Marlene and Lacey started laughing and Lacey grabbed his hand and they intertwined their hand together. It was as if I was in a parallel universe, my best friend and my two ex best friends hanging out all together as if none of it ever happened. This is all too much to handle and for some reason I feel somewhat comforted by being around these two again.
"Amelia, How's life been treating you?" Lacey asked me.
"Oh you know the same old life I had before. How about you, Lacey?" I smiled so big and fake at her. If she wants to play the fake game well I'll play it even bigger and better.
"Oh you know, it's been the same. Nothing that's really that new since we've last talked." I wonder what she meant by nothing that's really that new. I looked over at Marlene and I knew she knew what she was referring too. I looked over at Harry, and he was looking right back at me.
"Marlene. I'm going in now." I whispered because now I was hurt. She could have just told me she was friends and talking to her and Harry again. I wouldn't be as mad or as hurt as I am now if she would have just told me. Now we will see how the rest of this day will go.
"Amelia, wait up please!" Marlene chased after me. I really don't want to talk to her right now. "Amelia Rose!" I can't stop no matter how much I want to.
"Marlene, just give it up. She's not even worth all of this. Amelia was never worth this much of your time. She's a bitch if you ask me." I heard Lacey say. I stopped dead in my tracks.
"Really Lacey? Really? That's what you're going to say after back in Freshman year you were little miss no friends. No one loves me, no one wants me. After I didn't want you in the group, but I was too nice not to say no. After I introduced you to Harry? After you stole the guy that I thought I was falling in love with. Really, do you want to say I was never worth the time because honestly you were and you still aren't worth wasting my time and my breathe. I basically helped you get who you're so oh very happy with. Well guess what. You want Marlene? You can have her just the same well you took Harry out of my life too." I said a little too harsh, but I honestly don't care right now. "And you," I pointed at Marlene, "I wouldn't be this mad or hurt if you would have just told me." With that I turned around and walked to my first class. This is not how I wanted my first day of senior year to go.
