Lisa woke feeling more sick than she have since she started having morning sickness. She rushed through her morning routine, getting dressed and so on, just so she could get to the kitchen so she could eat. Toast and a glass of ginger tea was all she could stomach when she felt so sick.

Lisa got to the kitchen just as Chris was cooking the last pancake and when the smell hit her she ran for the downstairs bathroom. Chris saw what happened and quickly opened up all the kitchen windows and placed the food in the oven so she won't have to smell it.

Chris found her by the steps. "I guess pancakes and bacon is out. What else can I get you?"

"Ginger tea and toast please. I haven't felt like this since the first morning and that was all I could eat then, hopefully that will help now." Lisa said looking a little pale.

"I think the kitchen should be odor free by now. Come let me help you to the kitchen." Chris said and placed his arm around her waist.

"Do you mind if I don't go in there. What happened just now was totally disgusting and I would hate a repeat of it." Lisa motioned to the little table on the veranda just outside the kitchen. "That looks like a good place to have breakfast."

"Okay, I would rather we don't sit outside but I have placed extra security outside so we should be safe. Let me make a call first though."

Lisa nodded and sat down on the bottom step. She watched Chris as he got his phone out and dialed.

"Aiden, I need you to do a perimeter check. Lisa and I would like to have breakfast on the kitchen veranda. Let me know when it is done." He placed his phone in his pocket and turned back to Lisa. "I am going to get your food ready and when I get the okay we can go eat."

Five minutes later they were both sitting at the beautiful iron table. The chairs had soft removable cushion on and a big umbrella provided shade from the morning sunlight. The veranda had a lot of pot plants around it making it a little bit more private. It reminded Lisa of a little piece of a forest.

"Who designed this space?"

"The veranda?" She nodded and he continued. "I did. I did the landscaping and everything outside. I am a qualified landscaper. I have always loved the outdoors."

"Wow. You are talented." Lisa said and took a bite of her toast. She looked at Chris's plate and saw that he had exactly the same on his plate, toast. "You didn't have to eat toast. I think that the fresh air here would have made the smell of the pancakes more bearable."

"I don't mind. It is actually good with the strawberry jam and ginger tea. Something I could eat now and then." He said and took a sip of his ginger tea.

"Do you think I could phone my brother now?" Lisa asked with sadness in her voice.

"Isn't he in school now?"

"Yes, but he has study class and he normally spends this time in corner somewhere reading a book."

Chris handed her his phone and watched as she dialed. She looked calm this morning and the color had returned to her cheeks after she ate. She looked a little fragile with her pale complexion. The blue pair of denim shorts with lace detail and a light blue loose fitting strappy top brought out the blue in her eyes and that made her look a little healthier.

"Hallo Tony." He heard her say and he listened to the one sided conversation.

"I am good how, are things with you?" ... "I am feeling a little sick but nothing I can't handle." ... "Is dad doing okay?" ... "Is she still mad?" ... "No don't say anything. You could call anytime okay. I miss you." ... "Bye." She placed the phone on the table in front of him. "Thank you, he would be less worried now that he spoke to me."
