25th March, 1878, Enjaku, Republic of Tori
The west of Tori was least to say, an inferno. Blazing heat, desert and the no-man's land right near it, the whole west was a place where residents feared for their lives
Enjaku was a pretty big town in the west of Tori compared to most. Bandits, however, swarmed. These bandits comprised of none other than the disgraced samurai from No Man's Land, where the highest order of samurai resided.
In the one funeral parlor of Enjaku, Boss Ed, stood in an attire most unsuited to him. His usual plane sleeveless shirt and tattooed body was replaced by a suited man coming for the funeral of a man he deeply appreciated.
"He was my best hit-man." Ed said to Bracco."I thought-"
"As much as he is a comparison, this guy was far too good. I liked him. He took out guys no sweat." Ed said. Ed even took out a handkerchief and wiped off two tears.
"I don't know how he got killed by him."
"Me neither." Bracco replied.
The dead man's body was brought up to a stand and a priest stood by him.
"...was a good man, a man of diligence and of care." The priest recited.
"He was none of that." Ed said "he was ruthless."
21st March
Ed stood by his desk in his usual office above the only restaurant that served good food in the west. Though, the main reason a lot of people came there was for drugs.
"Ed, look," Bracco said "Steve's becoming far too dangerous. We have to take him out.""Steve?" Ed asked "How exactly do we do that?"
"Send Todd."
"Todd's as good as Steve I suppose." Ed sat down by the desk and opened a button on his shirt to allow some air "but I don't want to risk Todd's life. Steve might kill him."
"Ed, we probably ought to take the chance. This guy, Steve, might blow over some of our raids."
"A full raid?" Ed asked.
"Last week, we tried to get into another town, with an oasis nearby, some people who actually harvested wheat, but Steve, he took 4 guys out. All he needed was one vantage point and he sniped them. His accuracy goes beyond several feet. Todd's fast, and even if we lose Todd, we've got plenty of other hit-man."
"Why don't we let Todd decide?" Ed said.
When Bracco and Ed got to Todd, they found him adding something to his gun. The gun was a mix of a sniper rifle and a shotgun, sacrificing some of the sniper's power, for a shotgun's speed.
Wanta opened the door to find Steve right in front of him.
"Have you fixed the scope?" Steve asked.
"Sure." Wanta replied "I got the scope. I tell ye, man, yer design was flawless."
"Well, show me." Steve demanded.
Wanta gave him the scope and Steve pulled out his long, black sniper with a red front-barrel and a perfect stream of green running over the top of the black portion.
"Alright.....I'll need to test it out. You still have that dummy?" Steve asked.
"Sure." Wanta replied "I have that dummy."
They went down to the basement. Steve placed the scope on the sniper and carefully aimed at the heart of the dummy. Placing his hand on the reload, he forced it back hard and pushed it back front with a lot of energy.
