The first to enter the room was Lana, followed by Rose and Galdo.
"Rose!" Lily jumped up, and ran over to her sister. Rose knelt down, and hugged her tightly. Though Rose would never admit it, she had been crying, worried. Lana turned, observing the damage in the room.
"Duke again?" Lana asked, brushing dust off a fallen beam.
"Eh! This is more damage then i usually do!" Galdo smirked, as Lana hit him in the shoulder. "Okay, okay. No joking."
"Anyways," Lana went on, "There's a change in plan. We can't risk heading back to that school now. We've also excluded Jace and Suki from our plans, so far.
Sol got up, scratching his head. "I get to stay?"
"Despite my better intentions, yes." Lana nodded, then her gaze shifted to Link and I. "Our team is now Myself, Galdo, Rose, Lily, Sol, Link, and you, Vex."
Link nodded, taking a leadership role once again. "Alright. Whats this new plan, then?"
Lana inhaled, then continued. "We need to travel to different dimensions. If Duke is planning an attack, we will need allies."
I scratched my head. "Uhh... Dimensions?"
Lana went to explain, but Galdo stepped in. "Yeah! Doritos are really fun. You see, there are many other worlds connected to each other!"
Lana glared. "Doritos?"
"Oh. Eh, i meant Dimensions. Im really hungry."
We walked back to the Delphine room, which served as a secondary meeting room, im guessing. Lily had gotten Sol to carry her on his back, because she didn't feel like walking. Galdo was pestering Lana about food, which i understood. We haven't eaten in what seems like forever, which brought a question to mind. How long have i been in this place? It seemed only like hours, but in reality it could be days, weeks even. I turned to Link, only to catch him staring at me.
"Hey, Link, what time is it?" I asked, distracted from the fact he was staring.
"Time? Well we've been in here for three days."
"Three days?!"
"Yep. This place is different, as you've seen. Our basic human needs are lowered, because this place strengthens our, well, 'super' side."
"Will we ever need to sleep or eat?"
"Oh definitely. I think everyone is hungry right now. Tired too, but we're too worked up."
"That makes sense, a bit." I laughed quietly to myself. A few months ago, if anybody told me this stuff existed, i would've laughed and called them crazy. But seeing all these people, with their own stories, was inspiring. Also, my brother was alive, somewhere. We entered the Delphine room, sitting around the table. Lily was blabbering to Rose about her powers, which Rose was proud of. Lana coughed once, and all of us turned to her.
"Okay. Dimensions. As much as i would love to list all the dimensions and what we'd encounter, we're pressed for time. We should concentrate on the ones loyal to us, instead of Duke. We need to build an army, to protect the whole realm."
Rose nodded. "We should be heading to Aranx, first. They've always been loyal, and are mildly strong."
"Aranx?" I asked, my curiosity taking over.
Link spoke, this time. "Aranx. Dimension of Justice. The people there all dress in golden armor, and few are golden themselves. They've just gotten a new king, so we should visit with him regardless."
Galdo looked up. "Ol Ravi finally became king, eh? Probably makes him one of tha youngest."
Lily looked up. "When are we leaving?"
Rose crossed her arms. "As soon as possible. But we need to train first. Vex doesn't know a thing about fighting, so we need to defend ourselves. Luckily, Lana created some sort of holographic training room."
Lana beamed, her eyes lighting up. "It's a pocket web. It teleports our mind forms inside. Each web has its own purpose, be it fighting, or even learning in general."
Galdo grinned. "Its a world in a box!"
Lana rolled her eyes. "Yes, that's one way of describing it."
"So how do we enter?" I asked, excited i'd be learning my powers for once.
"Put these on." Lana gave us metal masks, that covered our eyes. She put hers on first, and Galdo erupted in laughter.
"These look so silly, eh?"
We each had our masks on, and were waiting for Lana to start the web. We each felt a sharp pain in our head, as the world formed ahead of us. It was an open, peaceful field.
Lily was the first to recover from the pain, and was happily rolling in the grass. She was cheering.
"Its so pretty!" Lily exclaimed, smiling.
Lana spoke over Lily, until she was calm enough to listen. "Now, you can do anything you want in this world. Ive set timers for when waves of creatures will be upon us." Lana then looked over to Galdo, who was creating copies of Lana.
Galdo grinned. "I love this place."
"What are you doing!" Lana screamed, chasing a Laughing Galdo and his army of Lanas.
Link turned towards me, and i followed him behind a small hill.
"So Vex, whats your weapon?"
"I have one?"
"Every one of us has a weapon we can call whenever. You've seen Lily using a spear, so we know what hers is. Mines clearly a knights sword. Rose uses a whip, and good lord its scary.
"What about Lana, Galdo, and Sol?" I asked, my voice rising in curiosity.
"Galdo uses this Giant sword. He wields it with two hands. Lana uses some sort of bow, its interesting. Sol however... He can conjure with his bare hands. Lucky elemental."
"Link, how do i find my weapon?"
Link laughed, pushing my hair behind my ear. "You don't. Your weapon will find you, in the time it is needed most."
"Link- I.."
We were cut off by the ground flickering. Dark clouds filled the once happy air, and it began to rain.
"Wow, Lana is really good at this web stuff."
"Thats not Lana, Vex. Something is wrong."
We ran back to center, where everyone was panicking.
"I cant turn the simulation off." Lana was very erratic. "We're trapped until we defeat... Whatever this thing is"
We first saw the beasts, when Lily screamed. Arising from the ground were grotesque demons, each having a deformed figure.
"Great." Link mumbled, "Nightwalkers."
"Vex! Get out of here!" Rose commanded, "They're looking for you, I saw it!"
Not wanting to test a Delphine, i ran. I dont know how far, but when i turned to see if they were following, it was a blank landscape. The ground flickered again, and i was in a completely different area, alone. I took in a deep breath, and sat on a fallen log. I had to stay calm, and quiet. If the Nightwalkers couldn't sense me, maybe they wouldn't find me.
That hope was taken from me, as a different figure appeared in front of me.
"Greetings, your majesty."
