Walking through the doors of the Mall was almost nauseating. This place. This mall was the same one that Karry and I visiting that fateful night. The thoughts of the both of us zooming in all directions of my mind. Yep. Karry and I went in there. And there...and there. The thought of seeing Karry's dead face made me cringe. Cathrine looked at me with concern and could tell I was a little disturbed. She told me to sit on the bench as she went into a store that my old friend and I ran into with excitement. I sat there looking at the nearby stores and for some reason the memories wouldn't stop. I could see the two of us smiling entering each store holding hands and talking with happiness. I turned to get the thoughts out of my mind but when I did my favorite place was in full view. Crystal's ice cream. I remember the first time I had Crystal's ice cream like it was yesterday.

"Wow. It is like eating a cloud with flavoring. What do you think of it Karry?"

"It taste like heaven to me Cree, Cree...Cree..."

"Cree!" Cathrine's voice brings you back as I looked around to see her face staring at me with worry. "Oh. You had me worried there for a second. Made me think that Jack was playing with you while we were out."

"What?"

"You don't know? Vampires have many powers. For one, we are drop dead gorgeous, if I don't say so myself. But along with that we are strong, can see in pitch black, and we also have the abilities to control humans with manipulating with their minds. I was hoping that Jack was not doing something like that to you." She said as the two of us made our way pass the ice cream. I take one last look back when it was out of my sight I turned back to Cathrine.

"So tell me, do you also have the power to get into people's dreams?" I asked blankly.

"Oh year, that's when it is the easiest. Most of the humans just think it is a bad dream so they don't really think that anything bad is really going to happen to them." She snickers.

My face goes red thinking of the time back in the house with Karry. "Hey! That's not something to laugh about!"

"What? Don't get all mad if Jack did that to you. A lot of vampires do that to their prey, or choice of suitors. It is not my fault that you are human too. But I will tell you something, no matter what you are, Cain will always treat you like shit."

"Who is Cain?" I once again asked this time out of fear of finding out. Probably another vampire I didn't want to come in contact with.

Cathrine drags me into a store that is full of nothing but cutesy little things that I thought would not even appeal to someone of Cathrine's...kind. She looked and saw I was waiting for the answer of the question I previously asked.

"Cain is a royal vampire from Europe that is a bastard. Don't find yourself around him, he is coming in tonight to stay with us for a little while. Jack wants you two to have little contact as possible if any. That's why he told me to take you out tonight so that when Cain does arrive, he is not looking around to hard into Jack's business. That also includes you, I hope you know."

"Yeah," I say in an annoying tone but still just as curious. "But what is it about Cain that is so wrong?"

Cathrine looks towards me once again and moves to a little bit of the side as a couple of small girls makes their way past us.

"You see, Cain is part of a royal family. He thinks that since he is that he can get whatever he wants. Doing so, he takes it whether or not it belongs to someone else. Jack is scared that if you and Cain meet, Cain will want you for himself. Not only is he scared for that matter but he is scared for you. Being as spoiled as he is, Cain doesn't really take nice care of his things if you know what I mean., So whatever he has, ends up discarding it or worse eating it if you know what I mean. Jack doesn't want to see that happen to you."

"So you are telling me that if I meet Cain, that he might want to take me away from Jack?"

"Trust me..." Cathrine tried to put as much stress into her words as possible. "If you don't like half the shit that Jack does to you, you are not going to like what Cain will do to you. Oh what do think about this?"

Cathrine holds up a large necklace that looked like it could wrap around her neck about five times. It was huge! She laughed hard as only a small chuckle escapes my lips. We looked around only for a few more minutes as we headed out of the store. Cathrine slowly drops her smile and grabs me tilting her head back taking a few sniffs. Guess vampires have a good sense of smell as well. What is she smelling? I couldn't ask because before I could get a word out she rushes, with me hot on her heels, out of the entrance of the mall without a single word.

Calvin's POV

I walked out of the bookstore as a few buddies and myself walk over to the food court. I looked left as I see two figures that resembled a couple of girls that I knew.

"Hey, did you guys see Cree over there a few seconds ago?" I asked as I point in the direction of a cute little store.

"Na, man. I didn't see her but I think what you should be looking at is that cutie over there man." Ricky whispered as he waves his hand at the girl that walked by. The poor girl herself gave him a dirty look as her and her friends continued on their way past us.

"Shut it. I am sick of all these other girls dude. I don't want a stupid chick that has nothing but a cute face Ricky. Come on." I sat back down at the table as Ben and Jamie were still eating their food. "Cree is something else you know. She has this mysterious feeling about her. Her eyes are gentle and that smile...dear god that smile."

Ben looked at me like I had something growing out of my face. "What the hell are you talking about? You just met the girl today."

"I know and for some reason I feel like we have known each other for a long time. I mean for some reason it is already like I know her from somewhere."

"Ah forget it man. You can figure that out later. Eat your food before Ben takes it off your tray." Jamie said as he grabbed his friends after watching Ben take a few before he could protect them.

"Yeah okay...whatever you say." I continued to eat and think of the only thing that was on my mind all day: Cree.
