It was an experiment. Nothing more and nothing less. To say that it went horribly wrong would be an understatement. Four scientists had joined together to create something the world was going to be proud of. The world would finally see the how wonderful science and technology were together. For a while, the four scientists thought exactly how wonderful it would be. They were assigned to create a humanoid so advanced it began to become human. For a short while, the four scientists were overjoyed to have created a creature so a head of its time.
But not all is what is appears to be. The humanoid began with low level crimes. Robbing stores here and breaking and entering there. Over time, the humanoid began to increase its behaviors where it was kept in the lab. The humanoid The scientists tried to control the humanoid but it always found a way around the security systems.
The government realized that it could no longer stay on their planet. The only solution for it would be to cast it into space-far away from them. The humanoid started to become human; a robot form only framing its surface. Government officials decided it would be put into space immediately. The humanoid only knew the lab as its only home. It fought against the soldiers that dragged it out of the pristine lab. It thrashed against the metal bars that held it in place.
The soldiers had to cover their ears as the humanoid screamed as loud as it possibly could. Soon, it was shoved into a rocket pod that would propel it into space. To float around for eternity. The countdown began and the four scientists watched as the rocket pod shot straight into the air. It slowly disappeared, a red dot only visible from where they stood. The government officials turned to the scientists and lifted their guns. One of the scientists, raised their hands in the air to cover themselves, "Kill us? But why?" The general simply looked at the scientist and said, "You were the source of this. This must never be spoken of again. The public must not know. No one must know." The scientist watched as the soldiers pulled the triggers, releasing a line of bullets that pierced through her colleague's stomachs.
Each one fell down in a zig-zag. One after the other. She watched in horror as all the people she had spent years working with were all killed before her eyes. Her whole world was shattered all because of an experiment gone wrong. Tears ran down her face and she began to shake. Her hands covered her face as she looked away. Her stomach twisted-she felt as though she was going to vomit. How could they just kill all of them as simply as they had done? Her head spun with what she had just seen. They were all gone. All of them. The memories were the only preservations she had of them. She wiped the tears away, trying to take control of the situation again.
She whirled around to face the same fate as her colleagues only to be met by the general's line of vision. He looked at her sternly with a firm tone, "You are to be transformed into a creature who will live out the rest of your days in space. In whichever realm you choose." She looked at him; a perplexed expression crossed her face. She had heard of the transformation forms but she had never believed it was possible. She carefully watched the general, "Is that possible?" The general sighed, "It was always possible. It just was never needed until now." The scientist glanced down at the ground and twiddled her fingers into a knot, "Why me?" She asked quietly. The general walked toward her, "It seemed to have connected with you the most. You are to watch out for it. If you should ever be met with it again-well-it's your problem now." She continued to stare at him in disbelief. The scientist began to ask another question before she was interrupted by the soldiers grabbing her by her arms and dragging her away. Living in space? In a realm? What was a realm? Her head spun with questions that she couldn't begin to form yet. In the instant she was taken away, the scientist decided that she would re-name herself Edefa. Defa for short.
Defa was transformed into a creature. She would be half human and half creature. An unusual combination that would surely stick out in the realms above their world. Her hair was grown long and changed to silver. Her eye color was now blue instead of green. She was given more height and a slender form. When Defa stepped out of the transformation form, she was wearing a silver dress. She was escorted into the pod. Her seatbelt cut into her silky gown, leaving a visible imprint across it. She clutched the handle, allowing more force to hold her down. The pod shuttered and its rockets launched. She felt it tilt slightly and her head snapped back as the pod took off.
Defa felt for the items that she was given at the last moment by the general. Four stones were wedged in her left pocket. The general pressed the importance of these stones. He had told Defa that she must never lose them and never let anyone take them from her. The stones held powers far beyond all of the realms abilities. If the stones ever got into the wrong hands, the humanoid would take control over each creature and each realm. Stealing their Innocence and claiming the realm as its own.
