6 | ACCIDENT PRONE
"Do you have any idea what you've done?"
Kane was seething with anger and hatred ran through his veins like poison. He was hoping Shumway was wrong about Raina being on earth but Ryan's somewhat scared expression when his brother pulled him out of the medical ward was enough to confirmed his fears.
Kane pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration. He should've known his brother was up to something when he so easily went convinced about the situation, he just never thought he'd do this.
"Did you know the man who shot Chancellor Jaha is also down there?" He asked. Ryan finally met his brother's ashamed stare and his eyes widened like a doe in headlights; as if he didn't know the drop ship wasn't just filled with thieves and the poor ones who were at the right time wrong place but murders and maybe even worse.
"I didn't...I didn't know..." He muttered, finally finding his voice. Ryan momentarily dropped eye contact but raised it back up after a beat. "Is her wristband light still on?"
Kane nodded and saw the relief flash on his brother's face. He knew Ryan truly did care for Raina like she was his own, but what he did put her life in danger. Because of him, his child was on a toxic wasteland with one hundred juvenile prisoners and a attempted murderer/janitor.
So instead of worrying himself sick the whole day, Kane needed to do what he did best, his job. And now with Jaha's life hanging on by a thread, he had to take charge. Even if that meant going against his own flesh and blood.
"What you did is still a crime, I'm afraid there are circumstances." Kane cleared his throat. "And you will be sentenced for floating."
"What?" Ryan stammered. His eyes widened in utter disbelief that his own brother was sentencing himself to death. "You're not even chancellor, you - you can't do that."
"No. But the chancellor is unable to make the decisions, so I'm taking charge." He straightened his posture, hands held behind his back. "The floating will be tomorrow at 17:00. I'm sorry it had to be like this." He apologized, unapologetically.

"Wanna know what I'm curious about?" Raina started. She had fallen back with Murphy and Bellamy after Wells and Clarke's mini break down.
"Not really, but what choice do we have?" Murphy retorted in a bored tone.
Raina ignored the boy's comment and fixed her attention on Bellamy. "How's a janitor get a gun?"
"How about we start by taking off that wristband and I'll tell you anything you want?" Bellamy suggested, the corners of his mouth turning up in a smirk. As high as Raina's curiosity was, she was throwing her only tie with the Ark away.
"That's not happening."
"Then I guess you can keep your questions to yourself." He shot back coldly and his smirk faded. Murphy bumped shoulders with her. "Guess that question's gotta wait, sweetheart."

Raina had now advanced back close to Wells and Clarke, hands shoved in her jacket pockets as she stared absently at the ground. With no tracker, they were still heading in no particular direction.
